In this section, we are going to cover grounding and energy protection as well as different ways that you can clear your energy and space. So when I talk about grounding, grounding is simply connecting yourself to the energy field of the Earth. This is extremely, extremely important, especially when you are an empath, because we tend to be over thinkers, we tend to really live in our heads quite often. And it's important for us to stay mindful and to really bring ourselves back to the present moment. So what this exactly means is really just connecting to Mother Earth. And it's as simple as really just taking a step back from whatever you're doing, and being grounded in wherever you are, whether it be in your office, in your car.
In your home in nature, really being present in that moment, not stopping our thoughts but being aware of them and letting them simply pass. So, you may need to ground yourself when you're feeling a little dizzy, a little spaced out, maybe kind of having like an unreal feeling you might feel off balance and maybe just generally just not yourself. When should you ground? This is a really good question because honestly, there is no right or wrong answer. For me personally, I find it best for me to ground. As soon as I wake up in the morning, I don't leave my bed without grounding.
And when I talk about grounding, you're probably like, how do you ground when you're in bed. Grounding is a simple thing where you literally just envision roots coming out of your feet and going deep down into the earth. Core until it hits the core and you just sit there and allow yourself to feel your roots go deep down into the core of the Earth and when you feel like you've hit the center of the earth, that's when you're grounded. It's as simple as that and you can ground like I said, there is no right or wrong answer you can ground first thing in the morning in the middle of the night you can feel you can ground when you're feeling stressed or anxious. When you are feeling forgetful when you need to focus on something and you always want to ground before any sort of spiritual work as well.
Now, earthing is a form of grounding and it is complete. It's really simple. It's completely free. And you can do it anytime, anywhere. It's totally accessible and all it is is just walking barefoot on Earth. That's all it is.
It is really quite an experience. Do it often. And the benefits of earthing is really quite cool, quite incredible. It is able to release the electrical charge and free radicals we carry around with us all day. It promotes proper function of our organs. It can help us strain stress and you know, relieve anxiety.
It regulates your sleep pattern, it reduces blood pressure and inflammation. And it connects us to the earth energy, which exactly is what we want to do when we want to ground. So, the next thing that we're going to talk about is psychic protection. No, you're probably sitting here like, Well, I'm not a psychic. I'm not a medium. I don't do spiritual readings.
And that's totally fine. You don't have to do all of this. But you have to also understand that you are a highly sensitive person and there may have been times where you might have picked up g that caused energetic overload or anxiety or funkiness within your own energy field, so it's always important to protect yourself. I shouldn't have even said psychic, to be completely honest, I should have just said energy protection because at the end of the day, we always protect ourselves in our everyday life, whether it be putting our seatbelts on locking the front door at night, these are all forms of protection. So we should take an extra step just to protect our energy as well. So the way we can protect our energy, there's so many different ways but I'm going to talk about two methods that I use and they're as simple as just visualizing a ball of pure white light six inches from the crown of your head, and just concentrate on the light and notice that getting brighter and brighter.
Slowly bring this ball of beautiful clear white light down so that it covers your head and your neck and your shoulders. And make it all the way down your entire body and until you're fully encased in this beautiful right protective light. Another method that you can use is calling upon Archangel Michael to protect you in his white and gold shining light. Again you can just envision a white and gold bubble around you protecting you and that is another way. There are also a lot of crystals that you can use Black Tourmaline is excellent Amethyst is M. Amethyst is also a really great protector, as well as sell a knight so if you're interested in looking at that kind of protection, you can do that as well. So clearing your energy.
I am a big, big fan of clearing your energy because we have to remember that whatever kind of lifestyle you have, whether you work in an office building in a school if you work from home or whatever If you're going grocery shopping, we are coming in contact with so many different energies, so many different types of energy, whether it be good batter and different. So when we come home and when we want to be in our own energy in our own space and our own kind of sanctuary, it's important to know how to clear our energy as well as our home's energy. So, the number probably the most simplest way that you can clear your energy is through smudging. Now, smudging is an ancient and symbolic ceremony that is used in many spiritual practices and it is the process of eliminating negative energy. So as you can see in the photo that is a bundle of stage and I think that there's lavender, you can smudge anything you can smudge your home, your car, your works.
Face your dogs I do it often. And it is completely safe and it really alleviate for me personally I noticed such a difference in the energy afterwards. Now if you are not a fan of sage, sage is sweet Sage or desert Sage are definitely the most common smudging materials. You can even purchase them on Amazon or your new age door. A lot of the times or even at Whole Foods, so it's very common, but I will let you know that Sage does kind of have a strong smell to it. A lot of people don't like that.
So you can also use Palo Santo and sweet grass and rosemary and cedar and frankincense. incense is also a wonderful way to clear energy if that is something that you're interested in as well. Now, performing a magic ritual is really simple and all you have to do is prior to smudging, you want to open at least one window and maybe your front door if it's warm enough because we want that smoke to escape the house because that's how the negative energy leaves. So before you even light the sage bundle, it's important to make sure that there are enough windows open so that all that nasty energy can leave the premises. Now, you want to light the sage bundle and allow it to burn for a couple of seconds before blowing out the flame. Make sure you have some nice smoke going and you want to start at the front door and outline every entry and exit way of the house with the sage stick and the smoke as well as focusing on the corners of the rooms because that is where a lot of stagnant residual energy like to hang out.
And while you do that, just go through all of your rooms and you really want to hold the entire intention of clearing your space making sure that you are getting all that negative energy. You know intention is really the most powerful thing when it comes to clearing and protecting your energy. So if you have a strong intention that you want to get rid of all negative energy, just really envision it when you are walking around your house staging. So another way that you can clear your own energy is through a sea salt bath and a sea salt. It's it's absolutely wonderful sea salt is an excellent tool to use in any sort of clearing ceremony but especially with the bath because it has so many added benefits as well. So this is a sea salt bath recipe that I use for myself.
It is one cup sea salt, one cup Epson salt and a half a cup of baking soda, the Epson salt and baking soda also bring in so many added benefits. Baking soda is excellent for releasing toxins. So you know you could do whatever you like but it is important when you are taking a bath if you don't like Epsom salt or baking soda, that's totally fine. You can use just sea salt but it is important that it is a salt that comes from the earth so whether it be you know Irish or Celtic sea salt or Himalayan salt, it just has to be a salt that comes from the earth and all you got to do is add it to warm bath water. You can add crystals, essential oils, tranquil music to enhance your experience and actually give yourself a break. You want to soak for at least 30 minutes and it's important not to shower afterwards because we want to allow the salt to penetrate within our pores to clear anything that we are holding on to and you also want to hydrate afterwards.
You might even notice that even during The bath you might get a little parched. And that's due to obviously salts, or the sodium within the salt, you know clearing away all of our water. So that is something that you can do to clear your own energy. Again, these are things even you know, and the reason why I went through all of these is because even if you are not a highly sensitive person, even if you are not a spiritual reader or a psychic or an empath, these are things that you can do just to protect your own energy. That's it. And these are just things that you should just keep kind of in your arsenal for those days where you feel funky for those days where you know, your energy is off, just you know, maybe take a sea salt bath and see if there's a difference afterwards.
