Do you love to create art, but find yourself looking for ideas? Do you think, What should I draw today? If you’re looking for art inspiration, consider taking part in a monthly art challenge.
Today’s class offers tips on how to get the most out of an art challenge, so you can gain productive habits, tailor challenges to your own needs, and make lots of art for your portfolio.
In addition to introducing the Beach Art Challenge, with a month of prompts for beach-related images for you to create, there are also chapters on tips to get the most out of any challenge.
What will you learn in this course?
And, for students who are curious about the various challenges, I have a bonus class that gives a peek into my own completed challenges and how they vary by medium and substrate (paper, journal, card) used.
For your class project, join the #beachart challenge. Download the prompts, then choose your medium. Do you like to make pencil sketches? play with watercolor paint, or work with acrylics? Do you prefer to use markers or ink? The choice of medium is entirely yours.
In class, I’ll show 3 methods for participating in the Beach Art Challenge, using 3x5 cards and markers, cardstock, and colored pencils, and watercolor, and a handmade book. Take a look at the prompts and respond by creating your version of the images listed.
Take a look at the classes for ideas and tips that I share on tailoring the challenge for you. Post your completed work and feel free to tag me @danielamellenartist.
