Now the next thing we need to do is want to create that DSLR look. So what we're going to do is we're going to click our pencil, we're going to scroll down, we're going to click Lens Blur top left there. Let's click that. And what we're going to do is, you know, drag that circle to the center, and then we're going to pinch sideways, and up and down until that inner circle is over the face. Now what we're going to do is when we go bless strim, we can create that DSLR look, and as we take it down, it's gonna soften as we take it up. It's gonna soften.
We've got a vignette strength as well, so that's going to darken it down. I'm not gonna play any vignette on this one. I don't want any vignette kind of apply that by itself. vignette is just a basic circle around you image that cameras normally provide. This is just adding that for you. So now we're on the screen.
Let's just play with a blurs a little bit, crease the blur, you might pinch in a little bit more precise blur and then let's go and have a look at the transition. bring that in. Okay, so now we've got the focus on the hair, but we might think it's a little bit too much on the edges. A little tip is when you're happy with it, take it back because you're I overcompensate. So when you editing, just take it back a little bit. So now what we've got now is we've got some blur around the edges.
Now I'm still not happy with that messy bit on the side there where we was playing with the spot to flip this next set this. Let's go back and see if we can just clean up a little bit more. I'm going to open springs here. Let me take the first round, really go up below in that corner. We're going to move it down a bit, blurring that edge over there. You can see we can just use that in their system below that a little bit more And we've just been using the blur to select that little corner section.
Yeah, that's much better. So now we start to get a DSR look, we've got a nice even background. The next thing we want to do is add a vignette. So we're going to go back into the pencil, click on vignette. And we're going to move that over the subject now we can then we can choose out of brightness in a brightness. So what we can do is we can go out to brightness up, so we can create a white vignette or we can have the brightness down.
Now we can create a dark vignette. So I quite like the look of that even though I'm getting the streaks over here. I'm not too bothered about that. I actually like what that's doing. Let me just take it down a bit. I'm gonna start to add a little bit of interest to the image.
Now obviously I can control the inner brightness or want to write up the image a bit more, which I don't I can do that I want to show you that. Anything else I can do? Well, let's have a look what other options we've got. We've got some transform options, so we could play with that change perspective. So if I wanted to do some perspective correction, we could play with that sector vertical narrative face up at the top or bring it down. I wouldn't use this guy's I would say that for buildings when you want to straighten your image out, we've got the brush.
So we can dodge and burn. So let me just show you dodging burn. I'm running my finger over the edge, you can't see my thing, but I ran the edges up there, can you see I can brighten it. So if I wanted a white background, I could just keep dodging until I got it. And what it's going to do is any dark areas that brush over on burning at the moment, it's going to bring out the highlights. I'm not going to save this I'll just want to show you how it works.
But if I click these little arrows, you can see the knothole so it's gonna that's how you choose and select it. So what dodge is dodge is make it lighter, but it make it dark and you can literally pick an area and lighten it and darken it. So lots of stuff there. quite advanced stuff probably don't need at the moment, I'm not going to save that, I just want to show you some of the tools real quickly, then we've got some selective stuff as well. So we can create a spot on the image. And we can actually then select the area.
And what I can do is I can literally just brighten or darken that area can you see, so let me just say zero. Now, let me show you how to use that if you wanted to create a white background. So we got to take that over here. What we're going to do is going to take that and we're going to increase the brightness over here and increase the size. You see what happens. And then I've got that and then if I want to create a new one, I could click plus, and then I can just do the same there.
All I've done is stretched out. Right now we can create a white background there. not going to use any of that. That's pretty much them. And then we've got some filters down here we can use, or what I want to do is I always like to check what does my black and white look like, here's my black and white. Let me just increase the brightness a little bit.
Let me just increase the contrast and brightness down because they're fighting each other. And now we might have a nice black and white I can use as a profile picture effect. I quite like that. So I'm going to accept that. And there you go. I've got my portraits a little bit bright in the face, I could probably take that down.
So how I would do that now was I would go back and I would just go back to my tune image, I would make any final adjustments I wanted to make, and I'm happy with that. And we've pretty much done it. Now the other thing I want to show you is details. So I've got structure and sharpening. I want to sharpen the image and men look better sharpened than women don't over sharpen a female portrait. But what we can do is we can just shoot So I could sharpen that.
Or I can use structure, which is also just going to create lots of texture and grit and depth. So if you've got a really strong lined strong face, you might want to play with structure. Give it a little bit more texture to the skin. Now I'm going to keep mine down look as young as possible. And the set sharpening about 10 flip that and I'm done. There you go.
