Alright, so you got your three full time job. So as you know, your income, your YouTube and your research now you're wondering, okay, what do I go from here? How do I actually create the channel? What do I do next, the first bit of advice I'm going to give you is, I want you to do some research on what channels are out there that you already watch. Now, I'm sure there's channels that you already watch right now on YouTube, maybe it's a news channel, maybe it's a video game channel, maybe it's makeup channel. So there's already interest that you have, and maybe somewhere in the back of your mind, you're thinking, I could do something like this.
So I want you to kind of in your research phase, do some thought of what your channel is going to be. Now the next thing I'm gonna say is very important. Listen up very closely in this phase, as you're trying to decide what your channel is going to be. There's a level of doubt in your mind. Let's be honest with each other. There is a certain part of you that's wondering, Is this gonna work?
Let's just cut to the chase, I'm going to tell you that. Let's imagine that yes, it will work and this is going to be your life for maybe the next 510 plus years. Okay, that's some people don't think about This when they make their channel, yeah, I think I yeah, I'll do a game channel, I'll do a makeup channel. Yeah, that'd be, that'd be all right, they don't realize that this is gonna be their day job, maybe six, seven days a week for the next 510 years, you have to really love this idea you have to, you know, you're gonna be doing this day in and day out. So you have to really love what you're going to be doing. So spend a little extra time here on your concept of what your channel is going to be, you know, make sure it's something you really will enjoy once it actually is a success and you're making money from it.
You know, right now you're starving for the success in that money. But once it's reality and you got the money coming in, you got the success analysis in your life, you know, so make sure it's a channel that you really want to do not just a channel that you think is going to get a lot of views. Now I'm not saying spend a year thinking about this set a reasonable deadline, you know, two weeks by the end of two weeks, I'm going to have a channel concept. That's my deadline. And then I'm moving on from there. I wouldn't go further than that.
Get out a blank sheet of paper. Go sit in a bookstore a coffee shop somewhere and write down your channel concepts. Another thing about picking your channel concept The kids channel which I thought was gonna be very safe for YouTube, a kids channel, nothing could go wrong, there's no risk of my channel being deleted and then the whole ad pocalypse thing happened if you're not familiar with that go ahead and google it basically the advertisers were pulling out and YouTube but you know, there's some bad videos online and the advertisers want to advertise on YouTube and then YouTube this whole effort to clean up YouTube and they actually made a bigger mess of it in my opinion, a lot of videos got demonetised a lot of channels got deleted so when you pick your concept when you when you make your videos you want to pick something that is I would say very family friendly don't know a lot of cursing nothing too edgy, even when my channel fuzzy but but I've had videos demonetised so you're never truly saved.
I talked to some beginning YouTubers who when they're putting together their channel idea, their show idea, they think of literally one episode and then they're like, Oh, see how this goes. And we'll kind of make it up as we go along. No, I want you to think of it like a almost like a pilot for a TV show. When you watch the original pilot of Seinfeld, the characters were fleshed out a lot. The general idea of the show is fleshed out who the character would be what the show was going to be was kind of more or less the same. So the idea is with your channel, you really want to you know, flesh out a lot of episodes and what the whole thing is going to be the music, the graphics, the kind of the format of the show and you want to write a lot of episodes up front.
You don't want to be making this up as you go along.
