Welcome to the Lean management program. Lean is a vast methodology consisting of a combination of several distinct tools and techniques to simplify your understanding of lean and make it practically applicable. This Lean management program is divided into two distinct courses, part one, and part two. Part one makes you a lien proficient. And competing Part Two makes you a lean expert. In this course, part two of the Lean management program, I'm going to teach you advanced tools and techniques of Lean management.
As I said earlier, by the end of this course, you will advance your status from being lien proficient to a lien expert. Now, there are two types of students who generally take this course. The first type of student is somebody who's already working as an employee in an organization with limited knowledge of process improvements or somebody Who is working in the quality department with existing process improvement skills, such as six sigma, you may have heard that Lean management is a great certification to have, which indeed it is. Or you may be told that you need a to get a promotion at your work, or get into the new career field you want. If this is you, don't worry, I've got you covered. You're going to learn everything you need to become a truly an expert.
Now, the second type of person that takes this course is somebody who is brand new to the process improvement field. This is somebody who is a fresher or has just begun his career, but has never learned lien professionally. Now, if this is you, don't worry. I'm going to provide loads of examples, loads of practical advice, loads of activities, and I'm going to get you everything you need to understand how this methodology works. So you will be able to stand out of the crowd when applying for a new job. Don't worry, whichever type of student you are, you are in the right place.
I'm going to help you learn the lean methodology and applied tools and techniques in your everyday work life. Now, why do we care so much about Lean? Well, implementing lean has become a necessity of every organization, whether it is manufacturing, or service. These days, each industry, each sector, and each business has become so competitive that organizations are struggling to survive. Globalization and access to technology has made each organization reach every part of the world. For example, amazon.com delivers its products to even the remotest location of this planet.
A Dell computer can be purchased in almost every country of this continent. And there may be Be a few thousand individuals who may have not tasted Coca Cola, or Pepsi. So if the planet is so saturated, how will organization survive? The only way to make profits is to cut down costs, eliminate waste, and improve cycle time. And this is exactly what the objective of the lean methodology is. This is going to make a lot of sense as we go through these lectures.
But that's what lean is all about. Remember, it's all about getting value to our customers. Now, who am I? Well, my name is Ross. I'm a veteran in the field of quality for over 15 years. My credentials include me certified Six Sigma master black belt, a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of quality, early in specialist, certified project management professional, a certified Scrum Master, MBA, undergraduate with mathematics honors.
I have worked with all Almost every fortune 500 company executing over 206, sigma and lean projects, helping my clients save billions of dollars, I have trained for over 9000 hours. And it is my genuine pleasure to bring all that experience to you by virtue of this Lean management course. Now, there are three really important things for this class. The first one, sometimes students say that I talk too fast. Now I'm working on it, and I'm trying to slow down for you. But if I do go too fast for you, I want you to know that you can slow me down in the video player.
In the bottom left corner, you will see it says one x. If you click on that, you can actually speed me up to go to 1.25 or 1.5 or slow me down by going to point seven five or point five. Whichever one is most comfortable for you as you're listening to. I will try to talk at a normal pace, but sometimes I do get excited and tend to talk a little fast. So if that's you, feel free to push me to 75% or point seven, five, and I'll probably be just about right is what most students have told me. Now the second thing at times, because of the varying speed of the internet connection, your video may get blurred.
If that occurs to you, just click on the Settings button on the bottom right and select either for a TP or 720 pixels. This will fix the blurriness of the videos. All of my courses are produced at high definition, or 1080 pixels level of quality. And if you come across the picture getting blurred, clicking the right pixel levels in the Settings tab will remove any blurriness. The third thing that we have is I have resources attached to almost all lectures of this course. You can access it by clicking the resources button in the top left corner, you're going to see that there is a PDF covering critical topics of this training.
Now, in addition to that, there are activities and relevant activity solutions. The PDF copies are printer friendly. So you could do those activities for each topic offline. You can get these PDFs from the Resources tab into the video that you are in. So with that, let's move on to the next lecture.
