This is the first lesson for graduate students, new, and developing scholars on Academic Scholarly Writing. This lesson looks at the big picture, such as why we publish, different kinds of scholarship, and getting to know journals in one's discipline.

This is intended to be used in conjunction with Lesson Two (Topic Sentences); Lesson Three (Writing the Literature Review) and Lesson Four (Writing the article for the peer-reviewed journal).
