Welcome to the class of declutter using Facebook marketplace. make some money while helping the planet. Part One. You may wonder why you wouldn't be helping the planet while you are declaring your stuff using Facebook marketplace. Let me share my story. I received a phone call from my friend last time.
She asked me for help flattering her house because she wants to be located in four months. Her original decluttering idea was throwing away or donating to half and I told her what tonight What a waste in Japanese and asked her Wouldn't it be nice to make some money by selling your stuff instead of paying for dumpster I couldn't stand to let her harm the environment. Since I will teach I've been teaching Zero Waste closet clean out online class. Did you know that we are living in a throwing away? Well, the US is the worst country where it's generally 4.5 pounds of waste per person every day. I am from Japan, where it is a more dynamic culture.
Even Japan generate 2.5 pounds of waste per person every day. I quite surprised by my friend Christie's decluttering idea. I needed to convince her to resell her stuff. Instead of throwing away and giving to her friends, who may not mean but after she showed me her smile, I began to help her set a goal. Make a list of the item to sell and then started to pass them on clicks this way I have sold quickly in the past. We this day to use the furniture and bulky items first.
However, we didn't get any inquiries within 24 hours as we expected. I had to think of other places to get faster inquiries. I recall the Facebook marketplace which I used in 2016 but after lunch as an alternative to clicks this although it was not successfully standing right away on Facebook marketplace in 2016 It's been a while and I wanted to give it a try again. I then posted the same items on Facebook marketplace the next day. I received a few inquiries within An hour. I had, I was so happy that my intuition was right.
I was also amazed that our listing on Facebook marketplace has been viewed by over 1000 people within 24 hours. According to Facebook f8 developer conference, Facebook marketplace users reached 800 million, while calexis has 60 million users. No wonder our Facebook marketplace past had more views and inquiries than collectors. We listed hundred 60 items both at a calexis and Facebook marketplace. We then sold 90 items on Facebook 19 on Craigslist, and 25 to neighbors for a total of 134 items. So Total Sales of $9,030 instead of paying $600 for dumpster Christie loved that result.
To be honest with you, we had a some price setting argument. While we are selling even though our original idea was paying for a dumpster but I understand the detachment feeling a sales goal was $5,000 We almost double that amount. I would so pleased to have made Christy happy while saving the planet as well. That is a reason why I'm teaching how to make some money by decluttering your stuff using Facebook marketplace hoppy motivated by Chris's story Let's get started.
