Welcome to at home engineering the course. When you have an idea, it's powerful to be able to build it. To take your idea, turn it into a physical product and see if it works in the real world, you do it to meet a need to build a product for business that you might want to start or simply to use at home. The world has changed the tools that engineers use are now available to us in our homes. And they're easier to use than ever. Professional CAD programs are now completely free parts that we decide to computers can show up to our homes within a day or just a few days, the whole world of online design.
So we now have online machine shops online part ordering, we can get free design advice and nearly all materials and manufacturing methods are available to us from our homes now and we don't have to have the equipment. So what we hope to do in this course is to set you up with the tools with just the tools that you need to know we want to make themselves Simple and develop a system so that you have a go to method. When you have an idea, you have a go to method to, to start designing and building. My name is Samson. I'm a mechanical engineer, and I'm the founder of at home engineering. And again, welcome to this course.
So as a course overview, we want to bring the tools that engineers use to our home and we're going to focus on CAD, we're going to ask which CAD program can we use and why we're going to learn the mindset and the ability to draw any product or design in CAD? So we're not just learning a specific program, we're learning the mindset. So when you see something or when you have an idea, how do you how do you approach it in your mind, and how can you translate that into the program, we're going to give you a simplified view of materials and the list of need to know manufacturing methods. Lastly, we're going to put our knowledge and our new tools to the test and we're going to design something. So again, welcome to this course and we'll see you in the next section.
