Editing and cropping pictures for eBay. I took some pictures using my iPad, and they automatically show up on my Mac where I do most of my editing. First of all, you can see that I have my white cardboard display as the background. I'm going to edit a clear glass with red printing on it, so it's a bit easier to see. I am using iPhoto on my Mac but most computers have a computer program that will work very similarly. I double click picture number one and using the crop tool, take out most of the surrounding unnecessary background.
Click Done and move on to the next and do the same there. When I have my lot of pictures ready, I usually drag them onto the desktop. So I know exactly where they are when I need to upload them onto eBay. Now let's move on to the next item. The vintage pacbell trim line telephone. Isn't it funny to hear the word telephone.
It sounds so old fashioned, but that's what it is. Again, when I'm finished with the quick cropping, I drag the pictures onto my desktop so they're easy to find. As I start to work On listing the glass, you can see the area where photos will be uploaded. You can crop right in eBay to we are ready to upload them since I did quick crops in iPhoto. Most phones and tablets have a cropping tool. So if you're listing from that device, you can crop as you listen to save time.
Here we are uploading the pics of the telephone. It's quite easy to do a couple of clicks and we are done. To recap, keep your background clean and simple. Make sure your item stands out in a scene easily. Crop around the items so there's not a lot of background to take away from the close up perspective. Drag to desktop or know where your pictures are stored so you can upload them into eBay easily.
That's it. So simple. Now go ahead and do a batch of photos after this lesson.
