Now it's the same set of images in the develop module. Let's have a look at some more rider, the tricycle taxi rider when it comes to know quite a few of these guys over the last few years and they're lovely had working been. Now on the left hand information panel, we've got a ton of presets that come with Lightroom. And there's a whole lot more available online if you'd like to add them. So coming in and choosing a preset, and presets are great to help stimulate your imagination and give you some good ideas of just what's possible to be done when you're editing images. You can quickly click through and try out different styles, even just as you hover over and click on some of them to give you a different idea of how your image can look with a different filter treatment or a different preset treatment.

So these ones are all based on color filters that were used when you're shooting black and white So to give you a different turning to an image, and once you've applied a preset, you can then go back over to the right hand side panel and make some further adjustments to get it looking the way that you want it. Going down the history on the left hand panel, you can turn that preset off and fold that up and have a look at some of the other options that you've got there just to experiment. Some of the presets, change all the information, there's other presets that information will be added to what you've done already. So just to be sure that you're seeing what's really happening, it's good to go back to the base image again sometimes. So there's lots of different effects that you can have on your image that are pretty much based on on film and how that was used.

Cross processing was an interesting when we would put either a color negative film Through a color positive development VAT, or the other way around the color positive through a negative development process. And I will give you these funky tones, funky colors. And I was always pretty unpredictable. So you've got that built into Lightroom as a preset. And then yeah, just come down and take it back to the beginning of history again, and have a look at the effect presets and you've gone you can add grain, heavy light or medium amount of grain, which is quite different than digital noise actually. And in each is an inconvenience, which will just give you a bit of dangling around the edge of an image which, depending on the image, this can look really nice or it can look pretty horrible and gimmicky.

Very much like most filters in presets, you've got to really have feeling for how they match to the image and not just use them just because you like them. Otherwise you run the risk of having rather tacky looking images. So by carefully searching through and getting used to what's the, you'll find that there's all sorts of useful things, even the zeroed preset as helpful to bring all your changes back to zero again. And you'll see down here I've got some labeled Givens presets was quite warm. That was not quite so long. And this one is quite cool that they've all got the general adjustments with the blacks, the clarity, the shadows app, the contrast app a little bit because I find that this suits a lot of the images that By shows and makes things a lot quicker.

If I've got a preset, I can just click or one of the three of them I'll try and see which one suits them and ski supplies and then have a little bit more tweaking, I can achieve my result quite quickly. How to Save your own presets are something that we will look at in a future lesson. You can also save snapshots of your images. We can throw if you're not sure what you want, you can just come down and click on the snapshot and pressing Enter to save that. And then you have a record their memory of the different seasons different presets that you're using, or the settings that you've manipulated manually on the right hand Side information panel. Side by side gives you some flexibility to really play around and have a nice quick comparison of the different styles.
