In this video, we're going to cover the pretend technique. Now this is a very powerful technique here that you're going to be able to utilize, so that you can instantly become more confident. And it's really about understanding how the mind and body works. So when it comes to the pretend technique, here's the thing. If you act as if something is real for long enough, you'll eventually forget that you're only pretending and how you're acting will become your habit. So this is the whole thing behind act as if right because you're pretending to be a certain way.
And so sooner or later is just going to become a habit. And it's just going to be how you truly are. And a lot of people that were shy previously have used this technique right and had been able to use this to develop their confidence because instead of them acting in a shy way, right having shy behavior, they started to act as if they had a confident behavior. And then after a while, it just started to be how they truly acted in How they actually were acting, and didn't have to pretend because it just became a habit. And it became second nature. And so the body influences the mind and the mind influences the body.
They go both ways. And so we can pretend to have confidence by reliving confident experiences in our mind, and our body will adopt confident Physiology or if we choose to adopt confident physiology, our mind will adjust what we're seeing, hearing, feeling, and ultimately experiencing. So just think about this, okay? You can be standing up straight, have your chest out, put your arms over your head, like you have won, like you're victorious and you can feel the difference because you have adopted a confidence, a victorious physiology. And so then you are beginning to feel that certain way that you're victorious, like you have more confidence, versus if you adopt a non confident type of physiology where you're 100 shover you're looking down, you're not very confident, right? And how you're portraying yourself right in your physiology, then you're going to automatically feel that way.
Because people who are hunched over who are looking down who are not very confident in themselves, that's how they come across to the world, because that's how they feel internally. And so by being able to relive confident experiences in our minds, our body will adopt that confident physiology, right. So think about it. Anytime that you are maybe feeling down, you're maybe feeling afraid fear, you're scared, you have doubt you have fear. If you change your physiology into what company one, or you have your hands over your head, you're standing up straight, your chest is out. You're going to notice how different you feel.
Right? So being able to do that on command is extremely powerful. Pretend that you're 10 times more confident than you are Right now and ask yourself these questions. How would you be moving differently right now? How would your body posture be different? Would you be standing up straight?
Would you have your chest out? Right? How would you be talking to yourself inside? Right? Your own self, right? Right now differently?
Are you going to have positive thoughts? You're going to have positive self talk like, hey, I've been able to be confident and accomplish many other things. This is something that's completely new and different. But I know that if I continue to move forward and progress and fall on my face, I'm going to get better. Right? How would you be speaking to others right now?
What do you see inside your mind to instantly make you 10 times more confident at this moment? What do you hear inside your mind to instantly make you 10 times more confident right now? What kind of confident feeling in your body would you experience? Would it be that feeling in your stomach right in your solar plexus Or would it be in your head? Would it be in your arms were in your body? Would you be experiencing that?
Typically, you're going to feel that confidence, that kind of grounded feeling in your stomach in your solar plexus. Okay? And how could you intensify that confident feeling in your body, just imagine, if you would sit there and be able to change your physiology, right? And be able to put your hands over your head, put your chest out, feel that confident feeling. And then think of confident situations in your life that you've been able to overcome. Think about how much that would intensify that feeling in your body.
Right? And how you can essentially, think about tackling the world right in the world is your oyster, you're able to do whatever and with whoever you want, right? So the pretend technique is very, very powerful. It allows you to act as if right and then be able to change your physiology and change your thought process. And the first thing you need to do is become aware of it. Right?
Become aware that when you're feeling down, when you're feeling a certain way, just changing your physiology, right, will immediately change how you feel. And then asking yourself these questions here, right, so that, you know that by me feeling more confident, having 10 times more confidence, this is how I would be moving differently. This is how my body would be positioned differently, right? This is how I would be talking to myself differently. Right? So I just really wanted you to become aware of this pretend technique and acting as if right because it's really important in a very useful tool that you can use at any given time.
Anytime that you're feeling down, you're feeling out right, you're feeling some sense of overwhelm fear. Changing one of these two things here will immediately change how you feel right and how you think about something So ask yourself these questions, run through this example here this technique and be able to utilize this in your everyday actions and your confidence will soar. So that's going to be here for this video and we'll see you on the next one.
