Okay, so today I'm gonna talk about the Google Plus account. And when you do get a Google Plus account, it'll be linked with your Google profile. Anyway, on the profile, you need to upload a picture like this. And I'll show you how to do that later. Obviously, an image and you're obviously going to have to spend some time creating a story about yourself and you can put links in this as well. Also, this is important.
You need to put your websites as many as you possibly can. So they're not only your websites, but your social sharing profiles, etc. Here, this is an important thing to do. So let's do that. So let's click on Edit down the bottom here and add another custom link. And the label I'm going to give is creative designs, obviously, and in there I'm going to put the URL.
So we're going to save that. And there is our creative designs link in there. That's it for Google Plus now under my own personal profile. Now, if you click up here, you'll see I have other profiles. And this is because they are google plus pages. In our primary sidebar, one more link to put in this one isn't essential.
But as you see on the site, if you go to the blog page, for instance, we have a link to our Google class profile. And so to do that, we go into the widgets. And under connect with us, we're going to put the href of our google plus profile page in there. So there it is, there's the post page, so we just need this bit. copy that and put that in there. So save that, because we're talking about Google Plus, create a page for your business.
So Google, plus pages like Facebook pages, basically. So you can have one profile, you're not allowed by Google to have more than one profile you are one person. But you can have as many pages as you want. So if you have multiple websites, or even one website, you should have a page for each of them in order to go pages could be down the side here, but in this case, you need to go over more, and then click on pages. And then you'll see the pages I have and create new page. So here you've got a decision to make Do you go for a local business or place remember, we've already done our Google Maps listing in Google Places for business.
If you're a large organization, I would go for that one. There's a category here for arts, entertainment or sports. But here we've got product or brand. We're primarily a website that people go to and contact through the internet. So we will go for the product or brand category here for the Google page similar to the Facebook page, but if you were a brick and mortar business, you may be better off choosing that. So you do product or brand, select a category and again, its website, go next and give it a name and link to the websites.
Content is appropriate for any Google Plus user agree to the terms. Okay, very similar to all the others. Again, we're going to have a 10 word blurb for the website, and we've got an email contact put in there. There's also a couple of images. So I'll do those quickly now. So there's our blurb, there's the email, I'm not going to put the phone change cover.
So for the cover, you want a large landscape image and you can crop it. So I'm going to upload that from a computer and we'll go for the pomegranate again. So let's pick a wide crop of our pomegranate. And then let's click on this for the image. Again, you can decide whether you want to use your face or the logo I'm going through the logo. There isn't, we can click Finish there.
So now that you've done your new page, you can edit the introduction up here, you can toggle whether you want to use your main profile or any of the other pages, I'll show you a little later, there's an add on to Chrome or extension to Chrome called do share. And in that you can share something and you can share it to various pages. So because now you've created this Google Plus page, it makes sense to at least add each post as you make it. One last thing you could do, if you have a Google Plus page is to put a Google Plus badge on your website. And I'll show you how to do that. What you'd have to do is connect websites to Google Plus.
And they have a Google Plus badge from Google Developers. And here it gives you the codes puts in there, it's actually giving me the codes puts in for my own personal profile, of course. But if up here, I just choose the page that I just created. And I can decide whether I want an icon or a small badge or a standard badge. So let's go for the small badge and select all that. And same again, we go in the back end, we go to Appearance widgets.
And in the primary sidebar, we're going to grab a text widget, similar to what we did with Facebook and paste in that code there. And now if we refresh the page, there is our Google Plus badge back on Google Plus, let's go back to Google Plus, because I'm going to switch back to my main Google profile. People on it are very evangelical about it. There's a lot of nice whitespace lots of nice big images and Hangouts, of course, and there's communities it's good job to join a few communities. It's good to hook up with people here and like any social community, it takes time you have to engage but it is a more intellectual, social. area, then Facebook shares interesting stuff and five or 10% of it, show your own stuff, engage with people engage with the communities, and see if you can get some traction here.
But okay, that's the end of the lesson on Google Plus any questions asked me. Thank you. Bye
