Today's lecture is about YouTube. Now YouTube is the second biggest search engine after Google. Because it's the second or third most visited website. I would recommend almost anyone gets involved with YouTube. Now, obviously Rome wasn't built in a day it does take time YouTube, especially for people who have no experience making video but then again, I had no experience making video as well when I started. And one of my first videos actually got the most hits.
If you go to my channel here, and you'll see I have 200,000 views. If you go to my most popular uploads, that one has over 50,000 views 20 5% of all my video views has been this one video and it actually was the first one I ever did with some screencast software called I show you I don't use I show you anymore, I use ScreenFlow and ScreenFlow is what I'm recording this video on. And I would very much advise you to get it's an absolutely fantastic way for not only creating screencasts but also just for creating video and editing video and audio. If you go back to my channel page now I'll put some notes in the description to this lecture about how to create your channel page and more importantly, the new channel here. But just like any other profile page, similar to Twitter profile or Facebook fan page, you've got to put all your all your links in as the link to my blog and the link to G Plus Twitter and Facebook.
You actually have to connect up the YouTube channel to the google plus profile which isn't difficult to do and then All you have to do is just upload videos. And if I click on another one here, there's one very important thing to remember, other than putting keywords in the title and that is always in your description here. When you edit this, just make sure whatever you do, the first thing in it is a link to your size. Now it might go to your site's homepage, or it might go to an article in your blog that is relevant to the subject of the video. And then after that, put in as much information as you can in there. But that's all really what you have to remember, because as long as you put that link in there, then you'll start getting the traffic back from YouTube from people who've watched your video and then click on the link, but with YouTube, choose a username.
That's obviously the same as your site name. I made a huge great mistake there with mine and I can't correct it at the moment. Other than that, it's a case of keywords in the title of the videos. Links in the descriptions, updating all your links to the pro profile pages in your site. In your YouTube profile page, but apart from that, it's just recording loads and loads of great videos on the subject of your website. So, I know it's a lot of work like all social media, but I do think YouTube is one for the future and one you should be looking into, take it one step at a time and start creating those videos.
And the more you do it, the better. You'll get, the better video views numbers you'll get and the more traction you'll have through YouTube, to your website. Okay, thank you
