Hello and welcome to the course how to sew a patch pocket back on. This technique is patch pockets not inside once. If your garment is lined make sure that you have access to it inside, so that way you won't soak through the lining while touching the pocket. If the lining is sealed all around the garment you should only use this technique if you don't mind seeing the pocket seam inside the garment on the lining. First make sure that your sewing machine is all set. Check if the spool and bobbins threads are the proper color in that they go through all the places they're supposed to.
Also make sure that you're using the right needle. I recommend using a size 14 needle or 90 for Europeans since the layers of the pocket and the garments are quite thick together. For fabrics that are thicker, like denim uses Size 16 or hundred for Europeans, I always recommend making a small test on a patch of fabric similar to the one you're going to use to make sure that the machine tension and the length of the stitches are appropriate for what you want to do. So once everything is set, you may begin to sew or otherwise do more tests while adjusting the tension or the stitches length or by making sure that your machine is threaded correctly. Since we're going to make a top stitch, make sure that the stitches are adjusted to be a bit longer than usual. So for top stitch, the stitches are always a bit longer because it's prettier that way.
You can now pin the pocket on the garment by placing the pins perpendicularly to the pockets edges. If the garment is lined, make sure you don't pin it in the lining. Once this is done, put the garment on third the presser foot and put the needle at One of the scenes extremities, remember to always so what is called a backstitch of the beginning and at the end of the scene to make sure that it lasts. So to make it backstitch you just have to make three to four stitches back and forth. And there you go. a sturdy securing stitch.
You can now so your pocket the wild taking care to follow its edges. Then make it back ditch, lift the presser foot and cut the thread. If the pocket has a double top stitch, you can repeat all these steps. There you go. Congratulations. You just don't attach pocket.
