Welcome back, everybody. I love this graphic. It shows the leader in action. And that's the tip. The wise leader has their actions match their words. To be a great leader, you need to be a great role model.

It shows integrity, what is the word integrity mean? It means that, who you are is how you act. And how you act is who you are. The to match. When the to match, you're in your integrity. When a mismatch.

You say one thing you do another, you're outside your integrity. Nobody is going to believe trust or like somebody when their actions don't match their words. If I say I'm going to do something, I always do it. Why? Because I'm inside my integrity. Matter of fact, the only time I don't do it is when it's completely outside my control.

And then I still take At least partial responsibility for it. Or when I don't do what I say I'm going to do, because I found a fantastic upgrade, I do something even better. So people get excited about that. And of course, that can be wildly profitable, right? So always make sure that your actions match your words, or nobody's going to follow you. Having said that, when your actions do match your words, everybody will follow you why they want to be part of a team that's taking massive action.

They want to be following somebody that they can trust. A lot of executives promise a lot of things and then they don't follow through. I would rather under promise and over deliver than over promise and under deliver. The first one boosts motivation, the second one takes it away. One creates loyalty, the other one destroys it. So Do what you say.

Now, the Wise leader is always going to empower their staff. Have you ever been in a job and it felt like you didn't have the authority to do anything. People never let you take charge. You're always just this worker drone. That's a horrible feeling. You don't want your staff to feel like that.

Empower your staff, give them a little bit of purchasing power, give them a little bit of authority power to make some decisions to take some actions. When they feel like they're being treated like their junior management, they will start to move up to the management level. So as they show responsibility, give them more powers. more responsibility they take on, the more power they can have. Think of it backwards. If you don't trust your staff.

Let me ask you a question. Why are they working for you? You should have already fired these people. For two reasons, I will never have anybody on my staff that I can't trust. They can do major damage to my business and also to my other staff, and to my career, they could even put me at legal liability. So if I can't trust them, they're gone.

Also, if you don't trust them, you have to do what? You have to watch them like a hawk, or have somebody else watch them. Now, this takes a massive amount of time and it's a complete waste of time because again, if you don't trust them, why are they working for you? This can be part of the 10% that you let go get rid of them. Now, having said that, if you're keeping them, keep giving them progressive levels of responsibility, and progressive levels of authority, keep walking them up. They will love you for doing this.

This will take things off of your plate the company will become more productive and Everybody wins. Now this tip is kind of a corollary, the Wise leader is supportive. Why? Because if you support them, they will support you. I keep going back to this law of reciprocity, I hope you're getting this. You do something nice for somebody, they want to do something equally nice plus a little bit more, you support them, they will support you equally, plus a little bit more.

And think about it this way. I got a little piece here on the graphic. supporting your staff is part of your job. It's one of your primary pieces of your job. You're there not just to have your staff work for you. But for you to help your staff to work for you to help your staff achieve the goals of the company.

A leader is not somebody who says do this, do that tell me when it's done or you're in trouble. That's not a leader. That's a manager in a poor one. I remember the last place that I actually worked at before I started being an entrepreneur started making the big bucks. We had 75% turnover, which meant in about a year and a half, on statistical average, you would know anybody that worked there, they'd all be gone. I remember I was one of the great old mayors, because I'd been there two years, which means about, you know, 90% of the staff or 98% of the staff that was there.

When I started was gone. There was me like 30 other people that were still there, out of a corporation with 600 employees. So yeah, I'm doing the math in my head. Yeah, that's about 5% of them left. That helped me build up my report skills. I had to get real comfortable with about 500 new people a year because that's how much of the staff was turning over.

It was ridiculous. Why? It appeared that the leadership the management wasn't giving enough support to their staff. They were so busy doing their job when a staff member came to them. They just said, figure it out or you're fired. Just get this done.

Tell me when it's over, they didn't have any time to train their staff. And why were they so busy? Because they were constantly fixing the errors and the challenges that the staff below them was having. Why were they having these challenges? Because they didn't give them five minutes of their time. It ended up taking 15 minutes of their time, because they just weren't being supportive enough for their staff.

They weren't training their staff. They weren't helping their staff. They weren't answering questions for their staff. They weren't checking in with their staff. They were simply managing go do this. Go do that.

Tell me when it's over. There was zero leadership. Leadership is about supporting your staff. You do it for selfish reasons, because it will help you it will help the company and ultimately Guess what, it'll help the staff as well. Everybody wins. I like to create win win win situations.

Staff member wins. wins, Corporation wins. How do we do this by helping each other out? Humans are social animals, we love to help each other out. We're all part of society. Why do people group up?

It's innately hardwired into your brain to be a social animal, why? It's one of your survival mechanisms. Nature knows that by working together, supporting and helping each other, we do better than we do on our own. In fact, it's critical to even survive. managers who don't understand this. They do horrible jobs, staff leaves all the time.

They have low productivity. They're one of the people that need to be fired. Why not to hurt them, but literally to what support the staff. Getting rid of bad employees and bad managers is one way that you support the staff. People that can't work as a team can't help each other. These are the people You need to strategically let go of.

So help your staff support them, create a positive environment, let them know that they can come to you, and you will be a fantastic leader. Now, the Wise leader also helps a staff to self examine. One of the things that I always teach the staff is constant and never ending improvement. Always be learning, always be growing. learners are earners, readers are leaders. I love little quotes like that.

Why? Because in a short phrase, they remind you of exactly how you get ahead in every way and every day. You want to be getting better and better. You want to find one more thing that you can do a little bit better at your job. So teaching them to self examine, to look at what they're doing, and say, what's better than that. What's better than that?

What's better than that? constantly making everything they do obsolete. I remember I had a business professor who was my fourth year in Business College, and he gave me a great technique. He said, Paul, constantly make everything you do obsolete. Always be looking for the next great, exciting way to improve. Don't fall in love with the way you're doing things.

Examine what you're doing, take a look, self examine, and say, How can I do it even better? constantly make what you're doing obsolete, you will have continuous and never ending improvement. So the wise leader helps the staff to self examine. They can self examine on a lot of levels too. So ask them questions. How's how's your staff doing that's under you?

How are you training your people? What are challenges that your staffs having that you could help them with? So ask the people under you how their teams are doing. Ask them. How do you think you're doing in your job? Why do you think that what progress has Have you made?

What's new? What's really great that's happening in your area that you're responsible for? That wasn't happening last month? What improvements have you made? What are some improvements you could make? If I said, next month, I want a 5% increase in what you do it an efficiency bump.

How would you do that? Get them to learn the questions that they need to really start asking themselves. You're training them to ask themselves these questions. And that's what you tell them to. I'll ask them these questions and say, I'm really asking you to ask yourself these same questions on a regular basis, because that's really not my job. Your job is to make sure you're always improving.

That's not my job. That's your job. And your job is to help the people under you. So make sure this concept of selling examination and never ending improvement is going all the way down the food chain. It doesn't just stop with the people that you manage if there's people below them. So self examination constant, never ending improvement.

Wonderful tip. Make sure you're using it, make sure you're role modeling it so that your staff sees it, everybody around you, your boss will certainly see it. And this is a great way for you to get promoted. When they find out that you're using this tool. You're doing absolutely fantastic. That's it for this section.

And I'll see you in the very next training.
