I want to talk briefly about three types of medication that you can use to treat back pain. It's very important that you discuss these medications with your physician and devise a plan deciding on the right medication that's good for you. Medication always has side effects and it's very important that you be aware to those side effects. And keep that in mind while making your decision. Your first line therapy should be something like acetaminophen or Tylenol, depending on where you are in the world. Tylenol or acetaminophen is a great choice for the first line of therapy.

The last option of medication to take treating your chronic back pain is the group called opiates. Now opiates do not have any place in the treatment of acute back pain. But in chronic back pain, they may have a place as a last line of treatment therapy.
If you've been paying any attention to the news lately, lately, you've known that opiates play a major role in addiction. And this is one of the more serious side effects that you have to watch out for. If you need to take opiates, be sure to discuss with your primary care physician and see if this is something that's good for you.
