Hi, Sean, I'm really pleased to meet you. We need to get to know one another. And I love you lots. You see, this is the most important way to find you. maritime Dan and if you're not spending time in front of the mirror, you are not going to get to know you. You need to know how you smile.

What fear looks like determination, anxiety, you need to be comfortable with this person and I do when I am doing life skills training. people skills training, what do I do? I get people to spend time in front of the mirror and they say exactly that. Hi, Shawn. I'm really pleased to meet you. We need to get to know one another.

And I love you a lot. Now, obviously, you're going to use your name, but that's how the conversation starts. You need to be comfortable with who this person is. Now you say, Shawn, is the mirror really important? I have put the mirror in front of people's faces, thousands. And every single moment it's my favorite time when I'm training people, the large changes in fact, I tell people, today is going to be one of the most terrifying experiences you've ever had.

Because you see, you need to be comfortable with the person in the mirror. The way you see yourself, is the way you're going to treat others. If you are not comfortable with what you see, why should other people be comfortable with you. And let me give you the story that kind of made it surreal for me. Lady very good reason, wants to commit suicide. She phones me to say goodbye.

Another phone call you really want. And she says, I'm saying goodbye because you were very valuable in my life and I want to let you know. So just out of the blue, I said, Why don't you do me a favor before you go? She says what I said, I want you to spend time in front of the mirror. She says Why? where's this going?

So I said, well, it's gonna go where you are totally naked in front of the mirror, looking at yourself firmly back in two and a half minutes. Now she kind of had a reason as people sometimes do, to commit suicide. She was in a car with her husband who she was having a divorce with the last holiday on the way back, they were singing. A little boy was in the car. And her niece was in the car with her ran about 13 years old. And she was thinking, you know what?

This was such a nice holiday. I actually connected with my husband. I'm not going to do this. We're going to stay together. And they sing in the car while she's thinking this, then all of a sudden, they have an accident. Everyone dies.

Except for her. She just couldn't handle it anymore. But she said, john, I will do what you asked me. puts down the phone. minutes off goes past 10 minutes goes past an hour and a half later, me sweating. Just waiting for a phone call.

And it was her phone rings. And I said, Anna, she sits on unbelievable. She said, I went to my bras and bra and panties, stood in front of the mirror and I cried, and I cried and I cried and I cried. And then she said, I lost so much at myself, that I cried. And I said and she said, Well I'm okay. I can do this.

She's still alive today. She has a wonderful family. She has children, incredible husband. Just for some FaceTime in the mirror. So if you're going to go stand in front of people, and you want to be comfortable with that experience, get comfortable with you. Spend some time in the mirror.
