In this section of the course, you're going to start with prototyping. And before we do, I like to organize my files. Now you can do the same as we did for the design. So you can copy and paste these artboards and make another copy down below. Just place prototyping. That's what we're going to do now.
But it's also an there's also another method, which you can use, which is just use these screens as they are. Now I like to use both of the methods depending of the size of the project. If the project is smaller, like this one, I like to simply duplicate all of these are parts and just placed in below because it makes our job a lot easier. It makes the developers job a lot easier. And then clients job a lot easier when they see this Adobe XD file, if you choose to educate them about how to use Adobe XD which is actually quite simple if you think about it. If you have a large project then you might want to consider including everything inside of this design part of the project.
So for example, just imagine you have 200 artboards, or something like that, then it might be time consuming. And it make, it might make your file a lot larger than it needs to be. If we simply duplicate these artboards, for example, you have 200 for the wireframes 200, for the design 200 for the prototyping, and you can imagine that file can be quite big quite fast. And it might be a time consuming for your client and the developers just to open and navigate around that file. But because we have 10 screens inside of this project, and inside of the prototyping phase, we are going to make a few more because we need to make some animations and some adjustments. And then it might be obvious way to go for the prototyping tab below.
So let's simply choose this And design and choose these artboards, simply hit Ctrl, Command D to duplicate them, and then simply move them just below and position them to be in line with these at the top, you can use alt and simply drag down below with this design and double click right here and type in prototyping, or prototype however you want. And then simply position it and eyeball it. And you can also make the same distance as it is from here to here. So you can simply go for example to 400 I think that's something we did for the design. simply make it 400 and then move all of these artboards up a bit so that you can accommodate that space that we just created. So something like this.
And that's it for the file preparation. In the next video, I'm going to show you how you can deal with the missing screens and the missing elements because I purposely made some elements missing from the wireframe and the design part. So I'll see you there.
