Welcome to lesson four of Module Three, your new and improved life balance plan, you have made it to the end of the frazzle to balance program. I hope you're feeling more balanced than ever these days. I also hope that you're developing not only a few tools that you can apply to your life, but I hope you also now have a system that you can use to guide you through those rocky times when life gets overwhelming and busy. As I mentioned when we started this process a few weeks ago, I want you to consider this program a resource that you can come back to whenever you need a refresher. This final lesson is meant to bring the whole program full circle, you created your life balance plan in the very first lesson. And then throughout this program, we've gone over many different strategies you can use to simplify your schedule and your life.
But more importantly, you've also learned a system for identifying your deepest held values, so that you can use that as a guide when you're not sure what to focus on in any given moment. In addition to that, you'll also now have a process you can use to set your daily priorities. Now that you have these new tools, we're going to update your original life balance plan so that it fits for you going forward. By the end of this lesson, you'll have a new and improved life balance plan that you can reference whenever you need to. You'll also go through the process of identifying a couple of top priorities that you can focus on for the next few months. And finally, you'll make a commitment to continue making intentional decisions about your time and attention so that they reflect your deepest values.
I don't think I need to go into a whole lot of detail in this lesson since we'll be working with your life balance plan throughout since you've been working with your life balance plan throughout the program. And at this point, all you're really doing is updating that life balance plan to take into account everything you've learned over the last few weeks. So grab your life balance plan, as well as all of the other exercises that you've completed in this program for reference. You're going to go through your life balance plan from the beginning so that you can answer these questions based on what you know now. In the end, you're going to have a completely new and improved life balance plan. I actually also think it'll be really interesting to see how things have changed from your first draft.
There are a couple of success tips that I do want to mention as you work through this lesson. The first tip is to implement what you've learned as you create your new and improved life balance plan. Remember to apply everything you've learned throughout this program. The values, priorities and time management strategies can be extremely beneficial, but not if you don't consciously implement them into your life. The more you can integrate these new tools and lessons into your daily life, the more life balance you're going to feel going forward. And second, remember that life balance is a process.
We've talked about this a fair amount, but I want you to remember that life balance isn't something that you achieve, this is going to be a lifelong process. life balance is all about evaluating your life on a regular basis, to make sure that you're on the right path. It's so easy to get distracted by the urgent but unimportant tasks that come up in your daily life. And I just want to leave you with the understanding that balance is about orienting your life around your core values. And that's not something that you do once and then stop thinking about, life is always changing. There are always going to be new circumstances or situations that come up that you need to factor into your day.
So keep evaluating your life, stay aware of how you're feeling. And if you're feeling out of balance, utilize the tools you've learned in this program to help you get back on track quickly. Now, having said that, keep in mind that you're making some fundamental changes in your life, which can lead to some resistance both within yourself and those around you. So the only pitfall I want to warn you about here is trying to change too much too fast. I know that you've been struggling for a long time and now you have some guidance and a few answers to your problems. And it can be tempting to jump in with both feet to make huge sweeping changes in your life.
But be careful about trying to change too much too fast. Sometimes we're so excited to make these improvements in our lives, but it can be very easy to bite off more than you can choose. And then when that happens, you're going to panic and revert back to old patterns and habits. That's just something you want to try to avoid. A better way to make lasting changes is to take small manageable steps. it's counterintuitive, but the slower you implement these tools, the better chance you're going to have to make changes that will really last over the long term.
You've learned a lot and it'll take some time to make these actions ingrained habits in your life. And that's okay, slower changes, okay? embrace the transition itself. Take your time. Think about this as a marathon, not a sprint. Go ahead and pace yourself.
This program was designed to help overwhelms working parents to slow down and make certain adjustments to your life so that you could stop struggling and start finally enjoying your life. The resources I want to recommend for our last lesson together are meant to help you go a step further. It's hard to consider what you want your future to look like when you're struggling through the day. Now that you have a little room to breathe, the next step is to start designing a life that you truly love. There are more options available to you today than ever before in history. Sometimes we make decisions about our future early on in life, like when you graduate from college.
But having kids can change things, what you wanted when you were 20 might no longer might not fit for you anymore in your life. And if that sounds familiar, or if that describes you, and you're interested in taking this step, that this program a little further, these are two books that I found to be really helpful in terms of designing a life that's a little different than when I'm living now. So the first book is called the big leap. conquer your hidden fears by gay Hendricks. This is one of the best books I've ever read that really helps people identify the sources of resistance that keep us playing small. If you feel like you're not necessarily fulfilling your deepest desires in life, or that you have a lot more potential, and you'd like to strive to achieve that.
This is a wonderful book. The other book I wanted to share with you is living forward a proven plan to stop drifting and get the life you want, but Michael Hyatt This is a wonderful book also that helps you chart a course toward a life of purpose and meaning. It walks you through a very concrete process to help you envision a future that is exciting and meaningful to you. And then it helps you to start make that vision start making that vision a reality. It's one of the best life planning books that I've read, ever read, and I highly recommend it. Okay, so let's put it all together.
