Okay, so wonderful. So if we're going to a store and they don't have anything, they don't have that thing that we're looking for that product, then they would say mail mail or they can be more specific and say mail to me see, there's no things here, or mail. Jayla don't say there's not this thing here. Wonderful. And now we know how to use that one. However, I would like to teach you in this video, another one.
And that is Sure, sure. It's not the same shirt from before. But it sounds exactly the same. So this is the first time that we have an example in Chinese where to start to words sound exactly the same. It's just basically going to be judged from it. The context which one we're trying to say here sure, can mean to be but sure, can actually also mean a thing.
And that's what we're going to go through now. Okay, so sure, can mean a thing. And let's compare that to donkey which also means the thing Hmm, so the difference being concrete and physical, as opposed to, I don't know, abstract and not tangible, okay? So don't be shy is something physical Sure is more like a matter, we can call it in China, you often translate the word should to a case. So they even have a Chinese mix where they say because they love to speak English in their, in their own language actually they love to, like throw in sentences or expressions in English. So they say shell, which means little shell case shell case and that would mean a little, it's a petty matter.
It's a petty matter, okay? It's not anything major, they would say shell case shell meaning little, then I love that expression a lot. And similarly then if it's something urgent or something major, you can say tau which means big so that case. Okay, anyways, enough about that. Again, if you want to learn more about that we have a course for slang as well, which should probably be quite interested in. Okay, so now that we've understood the difference between Dong she would just refers to something physical, like a thing.
Whereas Sure, could be more like a matter, okay? So a matter could be something that annoys you. Let's not talk about this thing. So if you don't have something if you basically lack the possession of something, you can say mail, don't see There is no thing, okay? But if replaces dogshit with a shirt, then we can say male shirt. And what would that mean then?
Well, that would actually be like there is no matter here as in, there's no problem here, everything's fine. So if you fall someone walks up to you, you can go me or shirt me? Oh, sure, everything's fine. And an abbreviated form for this one, which is much more common is every time we say May we know that they're supposed to be in your following so we can actually even admit it. So we can say may shirt as well. And similarly we can say may Don't say no things, or no matter as in no problem or no product.
Okay? So there's a big difference between these two and they're both very useful. Okay. So if someone bumped into you and says, excuse me, you say, me Sure. Oh, niihama. Make sure make sure make sure make sure make sure Go on.
Go on. Fantastic. And with that We can actually sum up or wrap up this little shopping segment of this wonderful travel Chinese course. And we've let numbers we've learned how to ask for things. We've learned how to one things we've learned. If there is something or not, we've learned how to haggle a little bit as have a lot of things simply and I hope you are just as excited as I am to continue this wonderful Chinese travel journey.
