Hello, this is Rob here from Rob cabin.com. And I just want to show you about how to align center and space objects out. I've drawn four objects here, I'm just going to draw another one. Why don't I draw another triangle to draw a triangle, you get the polygon tool, and you specify three sides in the option bar. And then you just drag and draw your triangle like that. And in the Layers palette, as these are shape layers, which are vectors, we can double click on the color there and just assign it a new color.
So what you can do to align the objects is to select them all in the Layers palette. So I click on the bottom layer, hold down SHIFT and click on all the others. Or I could just hold down Command or Control and click on the others individually like that. So I have all the five shapes selected now. And up here in the options palette, you have various buttons for aligning and distributing or spacing out. So here we align at the top there, and that takes the top most pixel of the highest placed object.
Again, we can align them along the bottom there that took the bottom most pixel of the bottom placed object. And here we're going to center them around the vertical center there, we can align them or left and align them all right, and we can distribute them. Notice this This property I'm going to move one of them over and in order to do that, I'm going to Command click on the background. And what that did is select the background because if you Command click on an object, so I'm going to Command click on this red square now, it automatically selects it in the Layers palette. So I'm going to move that one down there and select them all again holding down the shift. And now I'm going to show you the distribute buttons.
And here we are distributing the top edges. Here we are distributing the bottom edges and here we are distributing the objects by their centers. I'll just do the same thing again Command click on the background and Command click on that red square and let's put it over there. And now let's select them all again. And we're distributing via left edges distributing by rice edges. Distributing by horizontal centers, we can now align by vertical centers.
So that's how you align and distribute or space out layers in Photoshop using the Options bar. And if you need to get the Options bar, all you have to do is go to your window and options. Make sure it's checked so you can see it. Okay, I hope you enjoyed that. Thank you very much for listening. It's Rob here from Rob carbon.com.
