Hello, it's Rob here from Rob carbonite.com. And here we are enhancing this image of a girl DJ. And in the first two lectures, all we've talked about is getting rid of the distracting background. However, in this video, we are going to smooth the skin and enhance the image. So I'm going to zoom in. And of course, I'm going to select the layer with the face on it and I'm going to get the rubber stamp tool s or clone stamp tool, and I'm going to increase the brush size a little bit, press option and click and then I can just get rid of that little blemish there by clicking on it.
Another tool you can use is the healing brush. And you can click on blemishes like that and it takes a approx animation of neighboring pixels. Or you can do it with the clone stamp tool, but it's up to you, but I'm just doing very much the bare minimum here. And that's how you take blemishes from an image. Another thing you can do is just improve the whites of the eyes. And in order to do this, I would get the Dodge Tool up.
Remember the Dodge Tool brightens areas and the burn to darkens them down. It's on the mid tones, I maybe I'm going to go through the highlights but I'll keep it on the mid tones at the moment. And I'll keep the exposure down to under 50% and I'll get a smaller brush. Notice that the brushes we've been using, the hardness is zero They've got nice blurred edges and I'm going to click on the whites of the eyes there. And that just brightens up the eyes a little bit. Now finally, to enhance this image still further, I'm going to copy that layer and I'm going to put another filter on the whole of the layer.
I'm going to go Filter, Blur Surface Blur. And as you can see, this really flattens out areas of the image and gets rid of bumps and imperfections in a totally unrealistic way. However, this is not the end of it. We're going to okay that and then with the move till selection, I'm going to spool through the layer blend modes with shift plus and minus And as you can see, the screen mode gives a nice realistic look to the image, but it does make it very bright. So we can cut the Opacity down of this layer to counteract that, and now if I show you the original image over the finished image, you can see how we used a lot of different effects there to enhance this image. So I hope you enjoyed that.
My name's Rob from Rob coven.com. I'll see you in the next video.
