Hello, we've done a few corrections to this image, and we've smoothed the skin a little bit with a blurred layer and the layer blend modes. Now I'm not very happy with the teeth, they aren't as white as the eyes. So I'm going to copy these two layers, so we've got a copy of them. And now I'm going to merge them together Command or Control E. And we'll call this current because this is the current layer we're working on. So in order to isolate the teeth, I am going to draw a path around them. So I'll get the paths palette up and I'll click new path and I'll get the pen tool.
The pen tool is the tool we make paths with make sure we have pubs clicked here, not shaped players and I'll show you why in a minute. Now I'm going to zoom in command or control space. And I'm just going to draw it around the lips. Now, with the paths tool, you're using Bezier curves and Bezier curves are the most difficult thing to teach about Photoshop and Illustrator. And I'll teach them in another lesson. The best way to learn them is just by using them but as you can see, it's a case of clicking and dragging in order to get the path or outline where you want it to go.
There it is. So we have this work path here we can save it and call it teeth. And kernel control click on that teeth path. And as you can see, it's actually selected everything but the teeth because the marching Ants are going around the edge of the picture as well as around the teeth. And we don't want that we want the teeth selected. And now we're going to go Command or Control Shift I to inverse selection, we could have gone select inverse selection.
So that's selected everything that wasn't selected earlier. So now we are selecting the teeth. Now that we've got the selection ready, we want to blur the edge of the selection. We don't want hard edges when we're blurring areas of images. And so we'll go Select, Modify feather, and we want to choose one or two pixels that I'm going to go for one pixel simple arrays, and now hiding the selection. And now Command or Control M for curves, and we'll brighten up those teeth a little bit.
So we go command Zed to see the difference of what we've just done. So that's fantastic. So I think that's enough for this lesson. We've done the teeth Next, we're going to do the lips in the eyes. So I'll see in the next video
