Hello, I'm Ross Maynard, and welcome to this guide to safeguarding. This course is about the safeguarding procedures that organizations who work with children or vulnerable adults need to put in place to guard against abuse or neglect. safeguarding procedures are needed for Doctor surgeries, schools, children's nurseries, clubs, associations, any organization that deals with children or vulnerable adults needs to have safeguarding procedures in place. This course is not about the clinical detection or escalation of safeguarding concerns. But the aim is to help providers of services to young people or to adults, put in place the administrative procedures that they need for safeguarding. The focus of the course is the United Kingdom.

But the principles covered should apply in any jurisdiction. And the agenda for the course covers two Including, what is safeguarding? Who is covered by safeguarding the responsibilities of service providers, key decisions for service providers, documents relating to safeguarding registration of new service users, identification of concerns, collaborative review, audit of effectiveness, and embedding safeguarding policies and procedures.
