Hi, I'm Steve Phillips from Halsey Jones Phillips and school naturopathic nutrition. And welcome to the breakthrough session. Now in the breakthrough session, we're going to see the links and the connections between the mind and the body. I'm going to give you some of my experience that I've had through studying metaphysics from learning ancient techniques like meditation, yoga, etc, which helps to connect the mind and the body and to help get balance and harmony within those areas. So just to start, and we're going to a little bit more about the mind body connection. So for centuries now, we've known that there's a mind body connection, it's all over, you know, you've only got to type it in the internet and you'll find that there's a myriad of studies that have connected the mind and the body and how powerful our mind can be in relation to change in our physicality, our body.
There's been some interesting work by a Japanese doctor, Dr. emoto Got some really, really interesting studies out there. Now one of the studies that you may be familiar with was that he took pictures of water particles after they'd been frozen. And what he did was he looked under my microscope of them, and he changed on one tank it put the word love. On another tank, he put the word and, or hate, for example. And it was quite miraculous what he saw when he looked into the microscope and saw the atoms he realized that actually under my microscope on the one that said, hate, they will all Jagat Doc, and they just locked. They just didn't look in harmony.
But then when you looked into the microscope, or the one that had love written on it, they were all symmetrical. It looked like a snowflake and it looked really beautiful and light. So this is really interesting study because it goes to show that the power of the mind or the power of words and thoughts has an impact on physical on the physicality, like our body is over a roughly 80% water. So if that experiment does that water then just imagine what negative thoughts and thoughts of other people, etc can do to our minds. There's another study also that was done with growing seeds. And they put, they had three different seeds, and they put them in the same environment, exactly the same environment, the only difference they did was they had people that were in another place.
And those people projected different thoughts onto each set of seeds. Now onto the first set of seeds. The they give absolute neglect that they just didn't even think about it at all. The second was indifferent. And the third one was they were very positive towards the third one They've given them thoughts of love and yet beautiful, nice thoughts. So what they found, after the seeds started growing was that the ones that were neglected, totally neglect, they didn't even grow.
And then there was the second ones. They grew, but they weren't quite flourishing. And then the third ones, they realize, actually, they were flourishing because of all these thoughts that were going into them. Now, just imagine, they weren't even actually in the same room as them. They were miles away, but the students were projecting these thoughts. So just imagine if we projected negative thoughts towards our own bodies, how much of an effect that's going to have on our health.
So that's what we're going to go into a bit more detail about now because, like I said, just know our minds and our bodies really connected on a deep level. If you imagine That our colons in accordance with Chinese traditional medicine, I will call on Obama is connected to the mind. So if the call on the bowel is congested, then it can have a knock on effect in our mind. And likewise, if our mind isn't working effectively, and can have an effect in the body as well. So it's a bit of food for thought. And I'm sure you've got your own examples of how that that works as well in your own life and in the life of your friends and your family around you.
So just when you as you go into this program, and especially this breakthrough session, start noticing that when you start thinking differently about yourself, or thinking differently about certain aspects of your life, watch how that actually transforms in the physical. So what we're going to do is to try and clean up our thoughts and start thinking really positive first of all towards ourselves. Because that's the start of everything. If we're not going Being kind and loving towards ourselves and let's be honest, how on earth are we going to be loving and caring towards others? So this is the first step, it'd be a good test for you to start thinking positively. And actually, there's as many positivity and well being experts would say, even looking in the mirror and saying things like, I love myself, I make an icon to talk to yourself and say, and I love I love, I love you, and then wait for the reaction and wait for the voices that come up.
You may find that when you say I love you, your mind may start playing tricks and saying things like oh yeah, but look at your big. Look at Look how fat you are. For example, look, look how ugly you are. Look how you can't do anything. Write whatever it is that comes up. Keep an eye on it, but don't put too much attention on it.
Focus on to it. I just continue to say and I love you. And then as you practice doing it more and more practice given less and less attention to the mind, and especially the things that are coming up. Because it's a little bit like a dog, if there's a wild dog coming you have, so you keep feeding the wild dog is going to keep on coming, right? So when you get these negative thoughts to start raising in your mind, just don't give them any attention to say thank you, say thank you, mine say our thank you for that input, but then just let it go. And you'll soon start to find that these negative thoughts will start to go by the wayside because like anything, if you don't give it attention, then it's not going to grow.
So the law of attraction teaches us that that if we the more attention we give to things, then the more they're going to grow, so we want to focus on the positive things. Okay, so we've already made the connection between the mind and the body and understood a little bit about that. Now, we're going To move on to number two, which is creating a positive mindset. Now, you may have read books in it before. And that is a fantastic way to start actually, if you start to read books and positivity, then you flood in your mind with positive thoughts. Now, when we grow up, we get a lot of different conditioning from our parents, teachers, and maybe from bullies, etc, which teach us that teach us our frame of mindset around what the world is like.
Now, this could be a positive one, or it could be negative when most of us unfortunately have had a negative one or a mixture of the both. But in general, we may have had picked up on a lot of the things from like our parents or teachers, they may not necessarily have been positive. So it's important for us first of all, to start flooding ourselves with positivity, like I said earlier on. So it's using positive thoughts using positive self talk. Initially, but then also, if we read the materials of a positive nature. First of all, we're getting the lessons from these gurus and teachers that have been doing this for many years and already really practiced in doing it.
And then secondly, we're going to gain for ourselves. We're going to fled our mind with positivity. Now, how this happened to me in my own personal life was when I went to play rugby in Australia. I've semi professional rugby play in Australia. And I got taken from a valley a small minded Valley in Wales, lovely Valley. I'll be here, but it was like a small Valley mentality.
It was. I moved from there over to Australia. And the first thing that I noticed when I got to Australia was how positive everyone was. It was fascinating. Every time that we walk into a shop people think good a and you know, how's it going and the weather was a big factor. Another I believe, because weather is one of the main things that people talk about.
And of course, the weather. Mr. Healy has mostly all the time really nice. Especially where we were we were in Brisbane. So the next thing I noticed, because we were around a lot of entrepreneurs and business people, they were very positive in nature. And just being around them instantly had an effect on me. And I noticed, wow, you don't have to think in this way.
You don't have to think in a negative way anymore. And I was amazed and that was like a light bulb moment for me when I realized that I didn't have to think in this old thought pattern that I always had done. And I realized that when I started to change that, and by the way, it didn't take that much effort when I'm surrounded by all these people because it automatically lifted lifted my mindset, just being an association of others. So that's another factor is if we're around a lot of negativity, Negative people, then that can have an effect on our consciousness. And also, when we try to creep out to the negativity, you may feel the analogy of like crabs in a bucket, there's been studies that have shown that if there's a bucket of crabs, that when when trap starts to creep to the top of the bucket, then the other Crabs just leap up and start to grab them back down again.
It can be like that with human nature sometimes, because if we're not feeling so good about ourselves, and we're insecure, then when we start to see our friends or our family, relatives, whatever it may be those people close to us, when they start to break free and start to get more positive and start to get more happiness in their life. We may find and it's not intentional, but on a subconscious level. We try to chop them back down again because we want them to come back to our level where we feel comfortable at so automatically when we surround ourselves with these positive people. can instantly have that back change. So if you have some people that you notice that when you've been in their presence, you come away and you feel slightly negative, then it might be an idea to start filtering those people out of our lives.
And it's not something cold, but maybe just see what it's like for a while not spending as much time with those people, and spending a little bit more time with the people that make us feel good. Now, of course, all of us are different. And sometimes it's really good to be around people that we can help and maybe they're not feeling so well. But when we around people, that all the time we come away from feeling negative and low, and we go start asking ourselves the question why we're hanging around with those people, or why we're putting ourselves into those circumstances. There may be some, like our parents may have acted like in the past for example, it's like a almost like a self sabotage where we're putting ourselves into situations which make us make ourselves not feel so good about ourselves. And then you can have a knock on effect in our lives.
So give that a try. Try transforming yourself by transforming your circle. And if you're, if you're the brightest person in the room, for example of all your friends and family, then maybe time to change the room, because we want people that are going to be above us. And yes, and people that are going to be possibly not below in a negative sense. But there's a good analogy from the east, which says, if there's somebody that's below us, then the only reason why we should be looking down at them is to give them a hand app. If there are people that are on the same level as us, we should embrace them as friends.
And if there are people that are above us, like our teachers and gurus, etc, that we should pay respects them and take advice from them and guidance. So that's a good gauge because there's always going to be people on different levels, but it's remembering to protect our own energy field and also to protect ourselves, our mind, our emotions and our physicality from this negativity that's around us. Moving on from that, then Other things that we can do to help our mindsets as well as things like the mainstream media, for example, if we're watching news continuously, very often, I mean, I don't know about you. But the last time I watched the news, I didn't see much positive news on there. So if we're watching constantly negative things, soap, operas, gossip, etc, then this can also have an effect on our mindset, because that's the programs that we're putting in.
It's a bit like a computer, right? The more that we put in these negative things in then that's how our mind our mind is going to process those things. And that's what we're going to manifest into reality. So it is important for us to, if we can try to limit screen times like that, or at least if we are going to have to be intense to choose what we're going to watch. We could watch something uplifting, good watch a good film and we'll get positive and it's got a good outcome might be a true story about people that have been successful etc. and lack of a positive effect, or even comedies are no health, for example, there's been a lot of studies that have proven that when people have had stage four cancers are chronically ill people, and they've literally just put the comedies on for the whole day at a good belly laugh for the day, for weeks or weeks on end, and then they've gone back out of the test and you realize the things that cancers have disappeared, or even, that the chronic health health condition has just totally gone away.
Now, mainstream science may not back that up, but there have been studies to suggest that this works. So this is something that we can start to look at and start to realize that what we're putting in is going to come out as bit like a fridge. So it's like a computer. It's also like a, like a fridge, wherever we put in the fridge is going to come out to the fridge. So if we put a yogurt in the fridge, for example, not going to go back there and get an apple because we probably can't get in there. So let's be mindful As the things that were surrounding us things, people and places that we're surrounding ourselves with, because the better or the more positive things that we can put in, then the more positive things are going to come out.
And that's going to have a knock on effect on our positivity and our lifestyle. I touched on it just now about gurus, teachers, and people that are more elevated than us, then we can actually take a lot of lessons from positivity, self talk, there's audio programs now, and there's many books in the market on self improvement and personal development. I would highly recommend these books, find the ones that resonate with you. In my life. For example. I never read a book until I was in my 20s from cover to cover.
I always got away with just reading the back when I was in school. But when I went to Australia, that was a change. In fact, there was regards to my reading. And why was that is because I found things that I was absolutely absolutely Inspire to read these things about body language and positivity. And so it's finding those things that resonate with you. And that's going to actually make an improvement and transform your life.
So those are few little tips on creating a positive mindset. I hope you enjoy putting them into practice. I'll see you in the next session.
