Having some local friends is another way that we can get rejuvenated from foods. So local friends which grow in our local surroundings will have the lines that we need and the energy, the new trends etc that we need at that time of year. So if we're taken on board small amounts of those trades initially may be larger amounts, especially when you get enough sweet things, then of course, fruit is much better than the conventional process sugar. So if you need to have more fruits initially, in order to get off like the worse sugars like the processed sugars, etc, then that's okay for the period. But in general, we want to be limited in the amount of fruits that we have because the high sugar sugar content. Of course, fruits are very good friends, they're very healthy, but in the UK and in colder climates, then our bodies are not yet To work so well off those off those fruits.
So it's even though they are healthy and of course, can you five days important but if we can increase the value of the five day and then having small amounts of fruits and that's one way that we can increase our vitality, and then food combining is another thing. So fruits if we are having them, it's better to have them away from other foods if we've been fruits during a meal for example, then they start they can start to ferment because they like to be digested on their own. So taking fruits outside of mealtimes having them as a snack on their own, whether they have been like an apple or a pear for example, then having them in between mealtimes not, especially not after your meal, maybe as an appetizer or before you mean but definitely not after the immune as a dessert because fruits then will start to ferment That's when we can be in fact in a negative bacteria etc into our digestive system.
Another good rejuvenating food is what foods are fermented foods. Now, we spoke about being in the UK in a colder climate or wherever you are in a colder climate. fermented foods are a winner because many years ago, our ancestors and older generations, they would have had harvested the fruits and vegetables during the summer. And then they would have fermented a lot of them ready for the winter months, we would have kept them in the coast or fermented. So we have these fermented vegetables. They're very high end things like vitamin B 12, which in a vegan and sometimes in a vegetarian diet, we're not getting as much as in meat eating diet, although there have been studies that suggest that because of the digestion and such meat eaters, meat eaters diets, that they also do not have very high beet value even though they're consuming a lot to me, they're not actually absorbing it because the digestion is clogged up.
So when we're implemented foods, we're getting those nutrients that we need, especially through the winter months, and we're getting the good bacteria as as well as things like sauerkraut. If you want to try it, there's plenty recipes online. So all you have to do is type in recipe for silicone for example, there's just chopping, chopping up your cabbage, white cabbage or red cabbage, did a little sea salt or Himalayan salt, summer XP suggest Palooza spring walk that in as well. And simply even that ferment and when it's fermented, when it tastes absolutely delicious. It's a very nutritious food and you can add it to salads or you can even just leave it alone. That's another rejuvenating way of eating.
So have a look at fermented foods and maybe a small amount of local grown fruits and be aware of food combinations as well, like not mixing complex carbohydrates with proteins. For example, if you aren't in a meat diet or even vegetarian proteins, try not to mix too much of the proteins with a complex carbohydrates because they can then slow down the digestion. And the digestion is using so many enzymes, different enzymes to break down the two things but obviously, if we've got just the one thing going in like are the main thing on it, which is the protein or the carbohydrate separately, then it's easier for the body to concentrate, focus and digest those things. So put them into action. Enjoy, put them into action. And I hope that you started to get rejuvenated from all of these beautiful and delicious new foods that you may be trying.
Thank you.
