Welcome to this section on the importance of eating colorful diet. So we all may have heard it before, about eating like a rainbow diet, for example, or eating a colorful diet. But what are the reasons around that? A lot of the times people have CMT, a whole range of color because if we bring in a whole range of color, colorful foods, then usually when I'm in a whole range of nutrients, because different colors will provide different nutrients. And in particular, if we start looking for different colors, we can also get different forms of antioxidants which are beneficial for reduction of oxidative stress in the body. There's a famous naturopath called Barbara Wren, she's got a couple of books of called cellular awakening and now we'll return to the light by Hay House, and she talks about the importance of light within our system and actually the will looking for light when You know food, so we get in different forms of light energy from our food.
Now, within her book, she says that if our cells don't have the full spectrum of life, then they don't perform optimally. If we're eating a full spectrum of colors, then we get all those colors and light into a system. They go into cells, and providing the cell with all of the light they need. You may be familiar with sun gazing, some ancient Yogi's and even Yogi's today in India, live off daylight. They don't eat any food whatsoever. They don't eat any food, and some of them don't even drink anymore.
They're in very, very hot climate. And you may think that this is impossible, but some of them have actually been studied by scientists. For a number of weeks, where they've had no food, no water, they've tested to see if they've been to the bathroom to see if they urinated at all, they have urinated. And they tested the hell. And all of the markers are has to perfect. So it's an anomaly into modern day science and they can understand it.
But what these people are doing, I believe that these people are utilizing light for energy. So they're tapping into a different form of energy. If you imagine plants get their energy from the sun, so when it in the plants to get the energy from the sun, so they're bypassing the plants and going directly to the sun. So when we studied in a colorful diet, we're not expecting everybody to Grogan, some gears and start living off like, that's only for a few people and you don't even have to do that. You know this. That's for a few people that are drawn to that and they feel like that's, that's their path, and that's fair enough.
We're not advising everybody to do that. Thankfully. What we say is if you eat a nice colorful Rainbow foods, then you're gonna get the colors and more importantly the nutrients and antioxidants that your body needs in order to perform to its best. Now we're going to talk about balancing our chakras to different light and different, different colors in our foods. So each chakra that we have, is related to different color. For example, if we look at the base chakra, the root chakra, that is related to red so if we foods that are red in color, then this can be beneficial to that area.
And if you're having problems in that area, if we can add or some if we can increase or decrease sometimes we may be in too many fluids that color. If we start to increase or decrease dependent upon what we're doing, then that can be more beneficial beneficial for that chakra and started bringing it back in balance is not only the chakra, there's glands beneath the chakras on the physical level. That's Where you don't have to believe in chakras, but there's glands physically that are in relation to all of these chakras as well. But if we have these colors, then it's going to be Ben Ben Fisher for those glands also, to go from the base at the Dan Tien. This one then is we're looking at orange color. So for eating orange foods, carrots, for example, butternut squash, then they're going to be beneficial for this shank residency.
And then we move up to the solar plexus, which is just below the ribs here. The solar plexus, we're looking at a yellow color. So if we're eating yellow foods, then that's also going to be beneficial for the chakra and the gland. If we're then we move up to the heart, the heart chakra, sometimes pink and sometimes it's green depending on what philosophy you look at with pink, or green foods can be very beneficial for this area. to open up the heart not only on a physical level, but also like on an emotional, mental and spiritual levels, they can start to open up those areas with lots of green foods and it can start to open up the heart. Green is also related to the liver as well.
So very beneficial as a double whammy. If we move up then to the throat chakra, this is this the color of the chakra is blue. If we're eating blue foods or blueberries, for example, then that's going to be very beneficial for the throat chakra. And if people have got problems with their throat, if they've got problems with their voice, so they think it can it sounds like this and things like that, then it might be an idea to start increasing blue color foods and you can even start wearing these colors also to bring them into our life. So around your neck like a blue scarf around your neck for example is very beneficial for the chakra. As we move on then to the third eye, which is right in between our eyes.
The third eye chakra is Usually related as a purple color. And you can use things like beetroot, for example is a purple color. If we eat in those foods, then that's going to help to open up the third eye and balance the glands beneath it. Then as we move up to the, our crown chakra, which is right at the top of the head, that is usually like intuitive white to the plenty of white foods. And some of the ones that you don't want to be having is things like white bread and white pasta, and we look for natural white foods and they would be beneficial for our crown. That's just to give you an overview of how the spiritual system or the ancient Eastern system of the chakras is related to our health also, at a glance, like I said, beneath each chakra, and those glands will benefit will benefit from those colors that I've just mentioned in relation to those chakras as a very brief overview on the chakras system, and how we can start even a colorful diet to relate to each system in the body like that.
In conclusion, I need an imbalance in the seasons, I hope that you can start to implement some of these changes in your life. And to start implementing things like the Chinese traditional medicine, start eating locally, or even grow on your own, then you can start to implement these changes into your life and to see how they work for you to see how more balanced and in harmony you feel with yourself, your body and your surroundings.
