Next, we're going to cover eating a plant based diet for optimum nutrition. Now, within our philosophy within our school with a one to one sessions, we usually encourage people to age more and more to a plant based diet. This is our recommendation through many years of practice and finding that this is most beneficial for people's health as they start to add more to a plant based diet. In general, the health also starts to increase, energy levels start to increase and they start have less health problems. So what are the reasons for this? Well, one reason is from more subtle level, then if you imagine when animals are going to slow After, then there's a lot of fear that builds up within their system.

They're sentient beings. And as they go into slaughter, they start to build fear within them because they can see their friends they can see their associates also getting killed right in front of them. Usually, in some they don't. But in a lot they do and then they can hear it obviously what happens when they get killed, so that then builds a fear within their system. So this is on a metaphysical level. That fear builds within the system.

And then they're killed their skins and put on put on the shelves ready for us to eat. So when we're ingesting that, we're also ingesting the fear and the attributes actually, of the animals. You've heard the old adage, you are what you eat, and we've said in in some of the sections that you actually are what you absorb. But if you just listen to what you you out To eat, then, if we're eating animals, then possibly we can start to have attributes and traits that the animals also have. Because on a metaphysical level, just like that, saying mentions that what we're eating actually becomes us. So if we start edging more to a plant based diet, then there's not so much of a nervous system with the plants.

So of course, they feel when we kill a plant, but they're not filled in at that level of fear and anxiety that the animals are when they move on their way to slaughter. So when we're taken on board that fear and anxiety, we can also start to play that out in our lives. There's lots of clients actually, that come to us, which are quite fearful, quite anxious. And when they start to take these foods out of the diet, naturally, they start to become more balanced and in harmony with themselves, their surroundings, and their family. So that's a real good tip if you went to too go down that route. Obviously, this is something that we advise This is something we've recognized throughout practice.

It's not something that everybody does. But what they do tend to find is that if they sign when people start implementing naturopathic principles, they will find they start going from red meat to white meat, fish, sometimes and eggs, and then even eggs and dairy goes, and then they go to maybe to a vegan diet even. Now, if you're eating red meat, and lots of acidic foods, and then you start in a lot of people, they don't generally go from that to a vegan diet, but some do, it's an overnight thing. They may watch some documentaries, on how the animals are treated, etc. And then they just realize overnight, they don't want to do it anymore. I've met people like that, and then still successful vegans or vegetarians many years later.

However, it may be a gradual process and we actually recommend The gradual process because that's what happened in my life and and then your body can also get used to those changes gradually. I mean, it depends where you're looking at it from you could be looking at it from health reasons, even just in health now, red meat has been known to cause cancer or increase cancer within people. But then if we move in from red to white meat to fish, to eggs, dairy, and then maybe into veganism or Ahimsa that's what the call is in a him so diet it means like non violence to all living entities and begs the question then, just like what I touched on just now a lot of people say when a plant is a living entity, so what about the plants? Well, yes, that's true, but they've been given to us to to eat, and they haven't got as much of a nervous system as the animal so they don't feel the pain as much.

So these are the foods that are recommended in ancient scriptures. A leaf of flowers Go water. That's in the Bhagavad Gita it says that we can offer and then take on ourselves. So that's just a little bit of, you know, overview of going into a plant based diet. There's also many ecological reasons for moving into a plant based diet. Off the top of my head, I don't remember the exact stat, but the cows take up so much more walk there than plants to grow.

And actually pound for pound. There are many plants that have more protein because a lot of another common argument is where you're going to get your protein from. Well, many plants, pound per pound have actually got more protein in them than B for example. So it's do your research and find out that actually, I'm beef that way did they eat grass? So they're vegetarians, the herbivores, they think grass and they are very big creatures a very strong creature. So we can also be strong and thrive on a vegetarian diet.

Another argument you can look at is it with animal eaters, you'll find the big garden sizes and that they bodies are built to be able to tear open and kill the animal themselves. And we don't have the names, the speed or the teeth to be able to do that until you get more if we're going to eat that meat to eat it evolved. So because that's what most of these animals do, then you can look at the digestive system. Let's first of all go back to the teeth. With the teeth we've got more or less our teeth at the back very similar to those of herbivores and therefore chew in plants and grind in actually the plants, plant based foods. So we only have two, four.

So the insight he says, and I don't know if you tried but they're not very sharp or very good at getting into raw meat on Heading into the skin of an animal, then we can look at the digestive system. So as we go down the digestive system, we look go meat based animals, the animals that eat meat, though he doesn't, he does animals. And carnivores, they have a shorter digestive tract. So the food goes in, they take the nutrients from it and it goes out, because we don't want that food to be decomposing within the body because then that's when bacteria is expected to start to fill out our intestines are huge, that football peanuts actually land within our digestive tract. So it's totally different and it's more common to that a movie goal, or at least anomaly. So that's another argument against it, but then ecologically, that we use a lot less water and energy and space.

To go plant based foods. hemp is a real good example we can use hemp for food for clothing, so many different for building materials, even so many benefits to him, and there's so many other plants like that available, which we could start to use, which would be much better for us and better for the environment. Also, what we're looking after the naturopathic with a naturopathic approach is less stress for better health. So when we're taking on less stress, then we our hands are naturally going to be better. If we like I said earlier if we eat an animal that was stressed itself and with just the action of that in itself is we're taking stress onboard. Whether it's a pretty from the plant and it's much more peaceful in general, and in the eye VEDA you'll see which I've spoken also in other sections, this course goes in the mode of goodness, passion and ignorance and plant based foods.

Most plant based foods and in the mode of goodness And most animal based foods are in the mode of ignorance, especially the dead flesh kind like meat free the lighter diet, and we gotta like that like so these foods, meat, for example, a very dense foods that dead, whereas we wouldn't be moving to more alive foods with more nutrition in them. So those are some tips in order to study the animal plant based diet for optimum health and nutrition.
