So techniques would be right for you as part of your philosophy. First of all set out what you want to achieve with the naturopathic techniques. And so when we're focusing on what to use as part of our program, we want to be looking and thinking about what what might be needed for the individual. And so when we're doing liver compress, for example, with the castor oil treatment, or some of the things that might indicate that we need a liver compress could be that we sort of generally feel sluggish that the digestion is poor, maybe there's bloating and inflammation in the digestion, but also fuzzy heads or inability to balance the emotions so feeling like you're not feeling quite stable with the emotions ups and downs, and lack of clarity, lack of direction, these are all linked with the liver energy in the Chinese system. And so when we apply a compress to the digestive system, Focusing on the liver which is on the right side of the body below the ribcage, it allows the system to feel nourished and supported.

So applying the castor oil compress directly to that area will make quite a big difference to now the energy of that organ functions. And medical medical practitioners might say what could that possibly do to that rebalance the energy of that organ. We're not looking at it in terms of medical sort of science. Here we're looking at his historical use of Castrol. Within the ayurvedic treatment within the Chinese philosophy within Dr. Edgar Casey's work where they've used these Castrol treatments over many hundreds of years in treatment, and understood through clinical practice that these techniques can make a huge difference to people's lives. For myself when I used castor oil treatment on the liver, I found emotionally I felt karma with this system had more flexibility, my joints etc that much improved from using castor oil and also applying castor oil to the hedge, you can put it through the hair Leave on for an hour, it makes a huge difference to how the hair texture is, but also how the serotonin levels boost and memory concentration improves through these techniques.

So I would say that through your own research and also through self application, make your own sort of choices around Castrol to to notice what feels right for you. Until we try these things out then we don't get an idea of what might be needed. We've compresses on the digestive system, it is really important not to do them in pregnancy. It's something that it's not recommended. Other people have been known to do them in the past and there are some naturopaths who recommend them. But as a general rule, we say no common practice in pregnancy on the digests subsystem and on the liver.

And especially if we haven't had improved our hydration and improved our diet beforehand. So what before someone does a compress, we recommend that being you are gluten free in the diet for at least six weeks, and that you're applying the hydration methods. So for plants of water and starting to hydrate the diet, because if you're dehydrated and you start to try to detoxify the liver, the body can sometimes go into shock or even produce a symptom like a headache because the system can't clear the toxicity without water. So it's important to assess Have you actually address the underlying dehydration and reduce your toxicity through your diet and improve your general sort of bitumen bitumen and mineral status slightly before usually two to three weeks before using the common press. And then when you know that you You're comfortable with applying them, you might do a series of three consecutive compasses for three weeks, three days per week for three weeks.

And it's recommended if you're someone who's having periods that you don't do compresses during the period week, you have a break during that week. Or even if you're not, if you're a man, or if you're a woman who has stopped menstruating, then you might actually have a break up one week per month. And that break would usually be around the full moon cycle. And so three weeks on one week off with compresses, so you're having a break so you can allow the system to readjust, and that can be quite helpful, but it's not essential. It won't cause you any harm to be doing compresses every week for a number of months in order to improve your liver function. When we're looking at kidney function, kidneys are related in the Chinese system to the emotion of fear and anxiety.

If after Balance. And so if there's anxiety, and if there's a feeling of feeling stuck and even body temperature wise and you're feeling slightly colder and energetically not feeling like the energies were in the system, there might be a need to compress is on the kidneys and the compresses can be done again simply by using castor oil. castor oil can be used directly on as an oil or again you can use the coffin compress on the area for one hour, three evenings a week. I say eveness because the oil compresses are very relaxing. So if you do need them that will be that will set you up for a good night's sleep. If you did one in the morning, it might affect your energy throughout the day although some people do enjoy doing them in the morning.

Another technique you could use on the kidneys would be ginger calm grasses where you make a fresh ginger tea co slicing appealing your ginger adding that to water bringing it to the body Similar units and make it as quite a strong solution. And then you soak your fabric directly into that ginger liquid and directly applying that onto the organ. And that would be left on for an hour. Naturally, Ginger is anti inflammatory, it has quite good same levels, it actually helps to draw out sodium from the cells as can act as a diuretic, and it will warm the system. So again, naturally, if there's a lot of heat in the system, Ginger may not be appropriate, but you would apply it to someone who's got a sugary cold picture, maybe clear or code symptoms that could really improve energy. This is one of those compresses that might be used earlier in the day because of the increase in energy that occurs with this compress.

So I probably wouldn't recommend you do this one after 6pm and that can make a really huge difference with energy. And again a series of three with active if possible, and supervision you might live a conversation Longer than an hour. And so you'd be leaving that on sometimes overnight with Castro with ginger, you might leave it on throughout the day. If there's like a kidney infection or suspicious, you might leave that on throughout the day. And these compresses can be useful with things such as kidney stones. Again, you need to check this with your doctor or your practitioner.

That simple technique really can really make quite a big difference. One of my favorite compresses is using hot and cold on the throat. So if someone has a sore throat, a cold handkerchief, it's feeding the freezer axes, it's very cold, and to play in that on the inflamed area, and it's quite interested in how the body will warm up that handkerchief that that was so quite quickly as the heat gets distributed from the body into the, into the cloth. And so quite quickly, if you've got inflammation and he tapped in the body, you can cool the system down and draw out those impurities just through cold techniques. And usually with the throat technique, you would soak that converse in cold water or again, put it in the freezer and apply it two or three times. So a couple of minutes of the time on the throat, anything from minutes to 10 minutes, taken off really making that cold again and applying that directly onto the throat, second time and third time.

So you've got a series of 30 minutes of cold compresses, and that really does make a big difference. So very, very simple. When you're treating stroke, infections or throat inflammation, sore throats, and it can really make a big difference to public speaking as well so it can clear the energy. Some people have eaten a lot of dairy prior, and in their histories might claim that they do still get quoted on congestion in the throat when they're getting ready to speak or saying and so people who have those type of careers might meet or what To start doing compressors to improve the quality of the voice and move it on from water therapy caster or therapy and ginger converses will be looked at in the next section of how to actually put different solutions into the bath as natural as naturopathic philosophy. We use things like Epsom salts in the bath, ginger in the bath.

Seven types of salts like the pink Himalayan cells, and these can make a big difference to how the skin functions and have been to take the stress off the liver and co long longer term, the more we can detoxify through the skin, the skin is our largest organ, we can actually improve the internal function of the organs and then feel quite energized through these techniques and they're very simple.
