Hey, welcome back to build winning courses. This is step seven assessed for mastery. And this is lesson two way the assessment type against the content. Okay, so let me talk a minute about how we all come to the same place. Do you remember when you were in school, the kind of test you hated the most was the one where the teacher tested you on things she or he didn't teach. That's why the objective which contains that all important verb is so important for you.

Because the objective tells you what content you have to provide, what activities you have to use. And it tells you how you're going to test to make sure people learn what you promised they would learn. The objective drives the content drives the test, you test what you teach, and you teach what you test. A lot of my clients think that the easiest question to ask is a true false and in some ways that's true. But what is the true false question? Do it wants you to find out is the statement accurate or inaccurate?

So what kind of verb would that go with? Let me show you. The verbs from your verb sheet from step three give you an idea of that. Let's say the objective is given the elements of a proper ad, the learner will be able to lay out an ad according to the sequence to find the true false question is true or false. The ADS layout is proper according to this course. true false questions can be used with any of the verbs in level one.

You can also use sorting questions, which of the following is the correct is a good stem to start with and level one because you're looking for recognition? It's correct versus incorrect. true false is great for that. Here's some classic level two questions for sorting. You might ask which of the following are or of the four items below which does not fit the definition of when you look at describing select the characteristics of x from the legs from the list below or read the description below which of the items isn't accurate? Discuss and explain both required Some verbal interaction and typically a checklist to itemize something means to present the learner with a paragraph or several paragraphs of content and have them pick out and sort the content that you need them to.

To optimize these talk about lists items all plural so you'll use multiple choice for these questions. Boy, howdy level three and four take a lot more effort. For example, adjust means I've got to have something to have to change and revise advise means you have to give them the opportunity to pick the correct advice you want people to have demonstrate means you've got to have the tools for them to demonstrate the actual task you want them to show you they can do operate, same perform same prepare, same practice, same schedules different you can give them examples that they have to actually create a schedule that can be paper based solve can be solving any kind of problem analyzing calculating contrast, contrasting is easier. That can be as easy as when faced with these two options. And some of them you can assess with multiple choice for drag and drop or matching or sorting or sequencing. But often you have to have multiple questions to test the ability and then and only then it's still knowledge and not performance.
