Lesson One, the cannabis plant. cannabis is a plant that has been used for thousands of years for everything from building materials to spiritual awakening rituals. The archaeological record shows that hemp fibers were used for making cloth and other textiles such as baskets and rope, and ancient writings refer to its use. there was evidence of hip cord and pottery in Asia as early as 8000 BC, where Taiwan exists today. That is 10,000 years ago, which makes it one of the earliest examples of human agriculture and the start of the transition from us being a hunter gatherer society to an agrarian society. Both hemp and marijuana are types of cannabis sativa.

The difference between the two types of plants is in the breeding climate and environmental conditions it has been exposed to over the generations. The term hemp typically refers to the industrial or commercial use of cannabis For textiles, foods, papers, detergents, plastics and building materials, as well as CBD, dietary supplements and skin products. The term marijuana refers to the medicinal recreational or spiritual use resulting from smoking or eating cannabis flowers or leaf resin. The main difference between the two is the ratio of CBD to THC. hemp has almost no THC, which is the psychoactive component in marijuana. The International definition of hemp is cannabis city that contains 0.3% or less THC.

Hemp is typically grown in fields and grows to become six to 15 feet tall in three to four months, whereas marijuana is typically grown indoors where the male plants are removed and the female plants are tended to produce high THC content, flowers or rhizomes. marijuana growers avoid cross pollination with HAMP at all costs. If hemp pollinates any marijuana that is nearby, the resulting plant will always be lower THC marijuana instead of higher THC hemp. The compounds in the cannabis plant cannabis contains at least 480 natural components 111 of which are called cannabinoids. cannabinoids are the active compounds in the plant cannabidiol or CBD is a class of cannabinoids that accounts for about 40% of the hemp plants extract in THC accounts for up to 25% of a marijuana plants composition. While cannabidiol is the most abundant of the cannabinoids in the hemp plant.

There is also a class of phytochemicals called terpenes that are just as important terpenes are the fragrance oils they give plants their various aroma it's the scent in all herbs and other aromatic plants comes from their terpenes in Canada The terpenes are primarily secreted in the flowers sticky resin glands. There are approximately 200 different terpenes and various concentrations in any strain of cannabis. Of these there are about 10 primary terpenes and about 20 secondary terpenes and cannabinoids and terpenes work together to create the entourage effect. Each compound works synergistically with the others in order to create the best benefit for humans and other animals.
