Okay, so earlier we talked about using diagram number one and I had you fill in some information like your best guesses about hitting. And in this chart, I filled everything out and I've given you averages. What I want you to do is look at this chart and I want you to circle the best to pitch placements based on the hitting average. So now you can see like a high inside pitch, generally is hit about 75% of the time, high outside pitch 55% of the time. So what are the two best pitch placements based on this chart, circle them, or in your mind circle them. So let's take a look at this.
So the best pitch placement will be outside in low and outside and high. So in general, a summary of this would be outside the worst place would be The middle inside pitch. So the red means that these aren't good pitches, the green is they are good pitches. So outside high and low. And if you miss middle, that's not a good thing, but it's better than missing inside middle. I'll take a look at some more statistics.
So in this diagram, you're going to circle the two best pitches based on hits per game. So in the earlier slides I asked you to fill in the diagram number two, how many hits per game you thought in those different locations. So compare my results with the results you wrote down based on a seven inning game 21 outs, and you can see where the most hits happen per game. And if I were a pitcher or I were catcher or coach calling in game, again, the high outside the low outside are the two best places Pitch because these are the lowest hits per game. The inside is the worst place to hit her pitch because hitters hit it. More on that location.
Next Okay, so the last two statistics are based on batters contacting them all this statistic is the batter stands there, the pitcher pitches the ball hits a spot within the strike zone, and boom. Now Empire gives a call, they have to give a call, right? It's either a ball or strike. So where are these called strikes? Take a look at the chart. And you got it outside and high, middle and the best below and outside.
Now some of these other ones Hi inside Metallo there, that's a percentage of the time that they're called, shrinks. So let's get a statistic summary based on what you learn from the statistics gathered on hitting average. And fill this in, pause the video, fill it in on your piece of paper, where is the best place to pitch a ball? You need to know this. Because when you have good hitters, the statistics are going to help you and where is the best place as far as hits per game and the percentage of strength called where's the best place to pitch for called strike? base basically this this chart is just like a statistics show or that you need to know statistics.
Statistics are important to be able to identify what's going to be good for you to pitch. Now, with that being said, one of the key ingredients to being able to do what you know this statistically right is having pitch control if you don't have people Control, then there's a problem. You need to work on pitch control. If you don't have control, your game is not going to be where it should be or could be. So what if you have 10 pitches? If you can't hit a spot where it needs to be hit, it's not going to matter if if you throw a big fat ball over the middle of the plate, that's a rice ball that's going to be hit a lot easier than a ball.
Maybe that's blowing outside. It's just a straight fastball. So get control over your pitchers pitches before you move on to different pitches.
