It shows you clear road to your dream is a step by step process to achieve more Do you want you never confused or missed out steps and the sources as you have your career storyboard handy? Once you have created it, all you need to do is to just follow these steps and you are on your way to your dream. Your career storyboard is a powerful creation of your career journey. It's a living creation that stimulates your thinking about your career goals, and achieving them.
Inspire you to take actions continuously and maintaining a sense as you are getting closer to your dream confident That you will be tool achieving it. As you will hang your storyboard into a study room, bedroom or anywhere else, you will be actually living with it for long, maybe forever. You will be able to look at it, read it and know what is the next step. You can use multiple colors. The glitters to make your storyboard more personalized. I wrote my goals using different colors on my career storyboard and as I look at them, almost daily, do it by now I remember the color of my East top career goals.
So now let's create you careers storyboard. How to do that? Before we start, let me tell you that this is the most deadly important part of your career designing and automate your success. It's an exciting process you would enjoy. Once you have created your career story board, let it simmer for a few days. When you come back to it, look at each top career goals of yours and ask yourself what are personal talents and the sources I can use to achieve it faster and add them into it, you are likely to do the additions and deletions quite often.
Till you come up with the final version of your career storyboard, you would try and test it time to time and make changes and that is usual and probably that the best way to creating a career storyboard. I would recommend you to Consider goals as low as one year, or as high as five years. If you have a career goal for more than five years, say 10 years or 15 years, then it's better to complete it in five years fraction. Once you complete your five years, make another storyboard. It's even better. If you can further break five years goal into one to two years or so.
I will show you how to do that. So let's start creating your career storyboard now. So we will be doing it in several steps. So let's start with one by one. First, you need to organize your top career goals and smaller goals or steps off Those each stop career goals. Second, you must have your new leads, ready for each of your top career goals.
Next, decide how you want to create your storyboard. This is the most important part. So I would give you two options. Either you can use paper bold with colored sticky pads, or you can use white marker board using color markers. They have the background of your storyboard. Hang this somewhere, you can actually see it often use it as your motivation to action.
If you are using paper board, let's say stick it to the wall wherever you can see it daily. If you are using white marker board, then hang it in the same place. Next, now it's time to gather the following. To create a paper board, background storyboard, you need to have one last piece of banner paper or project paper 36 into 18 inches or so would work great to a black belt or sketch pen and five pairs of sticky notes. three by three inches will be better in five different colors. But if you have decided to use your storyboard background by using a white marker board, then get a white marker board in the same size like 36 By 18 inches or so and get six markers of different colors including black, you can have two or three colors if six is not available that Okay, so the next is stick or tape the banner paper on the wall, in your study room, bedroom or anywhere else wherever you want to have this student board.
If you are using white marker board as said, then you can hang it in the same place instead. That's your storyboard background. You can think of creating multiple storyboard if you want in smaller size, or different style. having different places in your house or workplace where you can actually see them frequently. It's up to you. But one storyboard, at least you need to create right so Next, use your black felt pen.
And write the biggest dream of your career on the top of the storyboard in big letters, and describe it bit, adding a phrase or a emotional tagline under it. That's your big dream. And it's a trigger line or tagline. So on the screen that you can see how you have to do that. So how the trigger line that tagline is going to help you it going to push you every time you look at it. Put your name and designation, your career identity under that tagline.
So now you have that storyboard background with your big dream written over there with the motivational tagline, your name and your designation right So the next step is take any different color sticky notes. If you are creating your storyboard on paper, if your background is paper bold. So, say you have taken the green sticky note pad. Now you write down all your top career goals with number, say, Goal number one and underneath write the name of that top courier. For example, take a sticky note. For example, I used like this.
I have written Goal number one and underneath have written publishing my first book. Right to do this for each of your top careers, Gold's using the same colored as we have decided, say green. Once you have done, you should have at least five or 10 sticky notes. According to your top career goals. Let's say you have 10 top career goals should have 10 sticky notes. If you have five, then you will have five.
So the next step is now, we will stick all these sticky notes across the storyboard. From left to right, exactly as shown. In this example, on the screen, if you're using a background of white marker board, you can create right into it, creating a box three by three inches, leaving one column on the left and right side of the storyboard as shown The screen, the next step is we will write your five years from now on the column in the left, from going down from up like this is 2018, I would be writing 2018 to 2022, from top to bottom. As I mentioned before, your goal should not be more than one year should not be less than one year and not more than five years of donation. If you have goals more than five years, you can actually split it into five years, creating separate storyboards or syncing this one actor five years.
So right now we will presuming that you had the goal for five years to complete The right column of your storyboard is the achievement tracker, you believe updated every year, but I think the percentage of your achievement of that particular year right, as you move with it, your percentage of achievement should gradually increase. This way you will be able to track your performance, how you are moving with your dream. So look at the screen and you can download the same here. Now, right all smaller goals or steps of each talk career goal into sticky notes and best them into the board under that particular top career code. You get it. Use one color notes for all these smaller goals.
Steps have one top career goal. If you have more number of top career goals, and less number of colored bags, that you can use one color palettes for two or three different top career goals. Make sure you should not use the same colored pad for two consecutive goal numbers. For example, if you use blue for all these smaller goals of top career goal one, then don't use the same blue for the top career goal. It helps visualizing your storyboard much clearer later. But if you are using white marker board that you can write the smaller goals or steps directly into it using different colored pens for different talk career coats.
Note, you may have more than five smaller goals steps against five years under each top career goal. In that case, you can add all smaller goals or steps that need to be achieved in a particular year in order to accommodate all in five years, or if you think this may take more than five years, then you can increase the number of years in your storyboard. Do all those adds a segment accordingly? After all, it's your goal. It's your storyboard. And it has to be according to your goals.
All right. So the next step is go to the top career goal one on your storyboard and see if you have attached all these sticky notes vertically under it, maintaining documents as you have all the time. them earlier in this lesson five, I mean in the previous lesson, that is lesson five. The same way if you are using a whiteboard, you should have written all your goals. smaller goals under vertically under each of you top career goals. Now do it for all your top career goals.
As the notes go up and spaces filled under each of your top career goals. You can now see your storyboard, come alive. If you use whiteboard, you can write them directly into it using different color markers creating boxes. And same applies here. Don't use the same color marker For any two consecutive top goals, here is the structure on your screen how a storyboard should look like. Now when you have finished attaching your sticky notes, or writing the smaller goals directly into the whiteboard for all of your top career goals.
Now stand back, relax and take a look at what you have created. Focus on it. What do you see your future? You have created a visual outline of your career. You have structured your dream. Congratulations, you should celebrate now.
Give yourself a small treat. click a photo of it and share it on social media with your friends. How do you feel it now? Isn't Great. Remember, this is a huge step, it may take a couple of days or a week or so don't worry at all. Allow that time to yourself because it's the most important step of getting automated your success.
So go slow, really, really slow. Take your time, it should not be take that much time that you are seeing this video. It will take a couple of days and week, as I said, so go slow. And the next step is now you have your career storyboard the exact roadmap of your success. But that's not all. Because that's not going to help you take action.
You need to make your storyboard actionable. How to do that to make use board actionable, you need to divide it further by creating your career calendar. Your career calendar is a yearly, monthly or daily action chat, where you break each small goal into for those smaller goals or steps. Your career calendars are the thinner versions of your career storyboard. For example, let's create the career calendar for the year 2018. From the storyboard that you have seen on this screen, this is the structure of that on your screen.
What we have done here is we have further divided each small goals depth of each top career goal of 2018 into monthly. So now we know what a smaller goal or step we need to achieve each month in order to achieve the goal of 2018 have each top career goal. So listen it very carefully and do it accordingly. Same way you need to create your monthly career calendar for the next year 2019 and all these subsequent years do you have created your monthly career calendar for all the years now it's time to create your daily action calendar which is the thinner version of your Monthly career calendar and the cleanest most version of your career storyboard. How to do that? Here you need to break your monthly goals or steps into daily goals or steps through your monthly calendar tells you what you need to do each day.
What steps you need to take today, tomorrow or day after. This helps tracking your action and performance daily. And that's how you make yourself actionable. On your screen is the structure of a daily action calendar for January 2018. And this way, you can create your daily action calendar for the next month and all the subsequent months of that year. I will do recommend you to keep your daily action calendar with you always, you should have it copy in your back.
One copy pasted in different places like your study room, bedroom or wherever you can see them often, almost every day to remind yourself what action you need to take today or now. So now you know how to make your career storyboard actionable by creating your monthly career calendars and daily career calendars. Now let's know how best you can use you career storyboard, and all the action calendars and how it can be your best friend in success. I have you have created your career storyboard and calendars. You are apps You're ready to start your career journey. You now exactly know what to do today.
Tomorrow. Next month next year. You have the exact step by step roadmap in your hands. Your storyboard is the visual outline of your career, and it will inspire you to take action. Each time you look at it. It gives you the flexibility, where you can swipe your steps or actions according to your goals.
Your storyboard and calendar helps tracking your action for months, daily, monthly and yearly, all at the same time. So you are more likely to take actions. Look at each top career goals and ask yourself what all potentials talents and desires courses I can actually use to achieve it faster, and write them into it. Complete your daily tasks, motivates and push you through completing your monthly targets and your monthly targets into your assignment 10 to 20 minutes daily to stand at your storyboard and ask yourself, Am I reflecting on my dream completely? Am I following the goals? That would take me to my dream?
Am I attaining each step and accomplishing my goals? Am I doing enough effort reaching my monthly targets? Am I completing my daily tasks? am I writing my performance daily, monthly and yearly? All right, you are on your way, but you should have no difficulties. taking actions and also able to beat procrastination.
