Welcome to Lesson six. In this lesson we'll be looking at using your voice to make your presentation come alive. To make your speech effective and interesting, certain techniques can be applied. vocal variety is the way we use our voice to create interest, excitement, and emotional involvement. However, it's important not to sound false, or as if you're giving a performance whilst words convey meaning. How they are said, reflects feeling and emotions.
A good voice is articulate, meaning that it is clear and distinct. A good voice is expressive. It portrays different shades of meaning. A good voice is vital to live in the attic. A good voice is pleasing. The tone is pleasant to the ear.
A good voice is relaxed it's free from tension and affectation. affectation meaning behavior speech for is artificial and designed to impress, I had to look it up. And finally, a good voice is personalized in that it is appropriate to the age, gender, and image you desire. In the next video, we'll look at four voice variables of pitch, rate, volume and quality.
