Lesson 12 the four beliefs. What if this doesn't work? What if this is a scam? What if my friends laugh at me? Oh man, what if I fail? When you begin your new business, a million questions will be running through your mind.

That's normal. Belief is another extremely important piece of the success puzzle. Without belief, you will fail. I've seen it hundreds of times, maybe even thousands. Johnny came to a meeting on a Saturday morning almost 20 years ago. Johnny was a young man in his early 20s.

I happened to be the one giving the presentation that day and saw firsthand Johnny was as excited as anybody I'd ever seen. The young man was so excited that he signed up on the spot and began telling me how he would be making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in no time. Saturday afternoon Johnny was on fire. Monday morning. He quit. Wait, what?

In less than 48 hours Johnny went from. This has to be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm gonna make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for the rest of my life to this is a scam and I demand my money back right now. So what happened? This very excited young man thought he knew enough to start talking to people about how wealthy he was going to become. Man.

Does that sound familiar? been there done that got the T shirt. And don't I feel silly for saying that stuff. It's normal. You don't know what you don't know. And I didn't know much when I started network marketing.

Most people don't. Please always remember the good news I made every mistake you can possibly make and yet I've been able to overcome all my foolishness and change my life. You're so excited, you can't control yourself and then it happens. You're told that you're a fool or stupid, or worse yet, you're told you're a naive, stupid fool who got scammed. In this case it was Johnny's father who rained on his parade. Even though it was decades ago.

I still remember that conversation vividly. When I asked Johnny what happened. He said that he told his father about his new business, and his dad laughed at him. Ouch. That had to hurt. Oh, Johnny, you got scammed.

Those things don't work. How could you possibly fall for that? Is it any wonder that Johnny quit? I've seen that scenario play out over and over again. Most of the time, you never know why people give up their dreams. And even when you ask them, they're just not going to tell you.

In many cases, we do a really poor job preparing people for success in this industry. That's the reason for this lesson. I hate to say it but it's true. Is network marketing. They'll really any different than anything else. schools don't really prepare people for success in life, do they?

Is education important? Absolutely. Don't get me wrong, but education alone will not make you successful. Belief is important in every area of your life. I never believed I could lose weight. So I didn't even make a serious attempt ever of getting healthy and losing the pounds.

It bothered me for decades, without belief you give up if you even make an attempt at all. Have you ever known someone who went their entire life afraid that they would fail? It's sad to see a life frozen in fear and mired in mediocrity at best. And that's just the way it is. I'll never win. No, that's not the way it is.

You believe that's the way it is. When you do not believe you're going to achieve something you don't even take the first step, believe a little and you'll do little. When you have total belief though. You will reach heights that normal people will not even attempt the height of yourself. Success is determined by the depth of your belief. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to a guy named Randy Grossman of Katy sn radio in Denison, Iowa.

Randy was the guy who asked me if I could help him on the radio when I had a sprained ankle and couldn't run track when I was in high school. Now, it's funny that so many events that would change my life occurred in Denison Iowa, which, ironically, was a town that I hated back in the 1970s. You don't even have to believe in you in the beginning. This is really important. You don't even have to believe in you in the beginning, as long as somebody believes in you, and they share their belief in you with you. Isn't that great news.

Somebody else can believe in you enough to help you build your belief in you. You need to find that person. They may live in the same household with you. Maybe they don't maybe it's your upline. Find somebody who will say to you, I know you can do This, and if nobody else will do that for you. Let me say it for you right now.

I tried and failed over and over and over again was a gigantic loser in this industry in this profession, then I became successful. I believe in you, because I know that if I can do it, you can do it. I have no idea what Randy Grossman saw in me or why he believed in me, but here's even more good news. It doesn't matter. He believed in me, causing me to attempt something that I'd never even contemplated doing. How's that?

For even better news, the direction of your life can be altered entirely by someone else and their belief in you. In 1954, Roger Bannister became the first person to run a mile in under four minutes before banisters accomplishment Some people believe that it was impossible for a human being to run the mile in less than four minutes after Roger Bannister proved it could be done. 21 runners would run a sub four minute mile in the next five years. It had never been done before. Bannister did it. Other people said, Hmm, if he can do it, I can do it.

They believed they could do it. They believe they could do it because somebody else had already done it. I know you can make a lot of money working from home and a network marketing business. Because I've done it. It's important to add the fact that I tried and fail over and over and over again many times before I became victorious, I want to keep saying that to you because I want to bring you hope, I proved it can be done. Even if you have failed before.

If I can do it, you can do it too. I keep reminding you of that so many times because my failure should give you hope. You go wow, this guy can make money I can make money. And when you have proof that a goal can be achieved. When others have done what you want to do. You can have total belief.

I didn't say you will have total belief. You can have total belief. You see, you get to choose what you believe, and how you program your mind. And one of the reasons people fail in network marketing is they don't believe proof is powerful, but it's not the end all and Beall, marketers use proof to get people to buy their products. When you read, listen or watch testimonials for a product. It's called social proof.

If that man or woman uses this product, and it works for them, it worked for me too. It's the same concept that hit me when I realized that there were three people in my new network marketing business back in 1996, who were already making $100,000 a year. If they can make $100,000 a year in that company I can't do and if I can make money in a network marketing business, you can too. David Schwartz wrote a book called The magic of thinking big it's a great book, I highly recommend it. Listen to his words, believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done really believe your mind will find the ways to do it.

Believing a solution paves the way to solution. Schwartz was absolutely right. When you believe something can be done, your mind will find the ways to do it. Schwartz says that if you want to build a car bridge or anything else, you need tools. He says many people forget that there are tools to build a successful life. His book is one of those tools.

And I'd like to think that what we're sharing with you in these lessons is another one of those tools, believing a solution paves the way to the solution. If you don't believe there is a solution. You won't even make an attempt without belief. Nothing happens. Now, I wish I could have helped Johnny believe, but there was nothing I could do nothing. The truth is Johnny's father either didn't know anything about network marketing, or he had tried and failed and blamed the industry.

Instead of looking in the mirror. Johnny had total belief one day, I mean, he absolutely believed network marketing was gonna change his life and his father destroyed that belief. Now hate to say But at one time before I finally became successful, I was exactly like Johnny's dad. Ouch. The truth hurts, doesn't it? At one time I told people network marketing doesn't work.

You may have uttered those words as well what happens when people plant negative seeds in our brains? We start to doubt everything. This is really a scam. Did that guy lie to me just so we can make money off of me? Am I a fool? Who do I think I am?

Anyway? I mean, I've always been broke. And that's just the way it is. My dad wouldn't lie to me. He must be right about this thing, right? I mean, he has to be, wow, how did I fall for that one?

Those products weren't that good. Who would buy them from me? Once you start down that road, start doubting everything unless you're prepared in advance and that's the reason for this lesson. It's different when you know it's coming. But if you don't know it's coming, and when you bring people into this industry, and they don't know what's coming, and they hear that it's a scam or it's illegal. They're gonna believe that What other people believe if you don't prepare them, you join any business you want to join any business at all.

But if you don't have total belief, nothing else matters. Nothing else matters. You must have belief in yourself. Without it, you will not do the things you could do to change your life. Johnny's father doubted him and no doubt made him feel less than he was made him feel really bad. I mean, I felt horrible for the kid, there was nothing I could do.

His father stole his dreams of life changing success. Now, the next four lessons we're going to share with you are devoted to specific beliefs, because it's that important. And I want you to listen carefully. To me, this is extremely important information. You must have all four of the beliefs if you're going to succeed, not one or two, or even three of them. You must have all four beliefs to be prepared for the inevitable inevitable onslaught of negative nancies and doubting Thomases, they're going to share their belief with you.

Now listen carefully. They believe whatever they believe. And in many cases, they have no knowledge of this profession or this industry, or your company or your products, but they believe wholeheartedly, whatever they believe, and they expect you to believe it to and if you don't believe whatever they believe they will, in some cases, call you a fool, or stupid or a loser should know then they're done that, be prepared for it because it's coming. But when you believe you can achieve great things in your life, you will never achieve, ever achieve until you believe belief always comes first.
