So, this section is probably arguably the most important section for you guys the most important The reason for that is is the devil is always in the detail we learned that in as a financial analyst when I was there in in the credit world credit analysts world in the banking world, but also in a resume attention to detail is is important because as a financial analyst or anything in this particular field of analytical work, your attention to detail must be spot on. And if it's not, then your resume will say suggest to the recruiter or HR manager that you are not cut out for the job so the devils in the detail guys, and you'll hear me saying that a lot. So make sure you Listen up, get your template ready as you fill this out, guys. So the first section is is General Information section.
So this is your contact tables, who you are all that type of stuff. So pretty straight for It has to include these things and in your template, it should already include these things. It should include your name, your email address, contact phone number, and you don't have to include your address anymore in these modern day resumes. I would also not include your details in the header only, you know the header or the footer, some recruitment software's don't read that section, some do some don't. But just for the sake of mixture, you pass the software but for recruiters or HR, make sure that's not in the header. Okay, you can have your name and curriculum vitae that's up to you.
But you'll notice the templates are provided for you. There's no information in the headers, okay. You also must have a professional email. We saw in the dat example hot babe@gmail.com. Obviously, that shows that you're extremely unprofessional and that you obviously could not take the resume Seriously, so this is important. So something like Jane smith@gmail.com is the appropriate one or Jane Smith 1986 at gmail.com nothing like Like I said, hot babe gmail.com.
So my personal one is a dot fam, and my birth date, sorry a year of birth@gmail.com. And that's perfectly fine. Most modern day resumes will also have a LinkedIn profile link. And this is appropriate and also even recommended. A survey found that more than 90% of employers use LinkedIn to search for evaluate and evaluate a job candidates. So if you have a poor LinkedIn profile in other costs of mine, I'll go through what makes a good LinkedIn profile.
Make sure you check that out as well. So those things are really important in general information section and one more tip guys, for your LinkedIn profile. You can actually customize your URL. So what that means if you have linkedin.com slash interview slash your name, you know Jane Smith, there'll be 100 numbers behind it or it could be something quirky, so you can actually customize it. So my LinkedIn profile is a link in comm slash I think in slash I Andrew Pham. Okay, so very professional, very easy.
Looks good on the resume, all that type of thing. These small things really matter and make sure your LinkedIn profile is updated, and good to go.
