Hello, and welcome to the lecture on dealing with distractions. So I've been doing this work for 25 plus years. And distractions do come up from time to time in the middle of the session. So we're going to kind of discuss what do you do when distractions come up. So examples may include so you're in the middle of a session, you're working from home, your neighbor comes home, and lets his dog and his dog starts barking and going crazy. Or maybe he decides it's time to mow the yard.
So he fires up his lawn more and starts knowing the yard, you know, right outside of the place where you're doing your session. So distractions are going to happen at some time or another. So it's a good idea to know what you're going to do ahead of time. But before you decide what you're going to do ahead of time, you want to keep in the back of your mind that the distraction in the session may actually be an integral part of the session because you don't know what you're calling is experiencing either good or bad. So you don't know if this distraction is a good thing for them or a bad thing for them. Because sometimes and I've experienced this a number of times, is that when you're in a session and a client, lets go of something like trauma or, you know, anger, anxiety or whatever, it may actually kick the 3d world into motion.
So the subconscious projection, so the 3d world is kind of picking up on what the client is releasing, and it's starting to play itself out in this life as it goes off into the ether. So when you pay attention to that, and actually realize that that's what's happening to be absolutely fascinating. So what do you do if distractions come up? Well, again, in the 25 plus years of doing this, I've only had to terminate a session I think once because the distraction analyze was so bad. I just said, you know, we can't do this. And that's really rare.
And I don't like to do that for a number of reasons. One, it's because everyone's ready and geared up for healing. So we're in the middle of Everyone tent is focused on there. And we spent all of our our time and energy trying to come together in this one place for this particular reason. So I really like to not terminate the sessions, if possible. One thing I also had to do a number of times when I was working in a clinic area, is that I had to actually step out of the session and go ask people to be quiet, so the noise was too much.
And I would ask them really nicely and politely say, Hey, you know, I'm in the middle of a session, I need some quiet just for the next 45 minutes. So if you wouldn't mind, I'd really appreciate it. And so if you actually have to do that, remember that if your client is in the middle of a session, and they're in a deep trance state, you don't want to leave them hanging there very long. And so and also, when you do that, you want to tell him in and step out for just a sec, you know, I'm going to deal with some noise. And when I come back into the room, you're going to be even more relaxed, and in a deeper state of relaxation than when I left and you're going to be very safe and very protected while I'm gone. So, you know, you can actually use that to your benefit.
And then the last thing you can do, you can actually make the distraction part of the session. So you can say something to the effect of, Okay, so just focus your attention on those children playing outside. They're very noisy. Sounds like they're having a lot of fun. And just allow your attention to focus there gently as you deeply relax, and allow those noises to take you into a deeper and deeper state of relaxation. So you're actually using those distractions to your benefit.
So those are a number of techniques you can use to, to deal with the distractions that are coming up in the session. And then I'd like to tell you a little story about a woman I worked with when we had distracted coming up in our sessions regularly. So this client was probably one of the best clients I ever had. She did more work and had more profound healing and experiences probably most anyone I've worked with, and she came and saw me probably 40 times over a two year period and her time was Thursday mornings at 10 o'clock Alice her time, you know she's dialed in, she's ready to do her healing work. And Thursday morning at 1015. like clockwork, I was working in a building behind my house that was an old tool shed that I converted into an office and was on an alleyway at 1015 on on Thursday mornings, the garbage and recycling came right outside the building where I was having my session, you could hear it really loudly.
They dumped the garbage, it was actually part of the session. So it was actually symbolic of what she was doing is absolutely amazing. And I don't know if she ever recognized it, but I recognize that every time we go mad, there's a grace I was looking forward to it. So you know distractions if they're going to come up, so be ready to know what you're gonna do ahead of time and also be prepared to just incorporate them into your session. So that's it for distractions and let's go on to the next lecture.
