So just tying up some loose ends in the library module now just like to take you back to collections and show you a few extra little things that we neglected to point out earlier on. So, first thing is the collection set. So if I just click on this little add collection button here, I can create a collection set, which is basically just a little sub folder to organize your collections in as you start to get that many. So I go create collections set. And I say, I'm just going to call it test set and create. And back down here we see there's my test collection set, currently nothing in it, where I've got my demos, demos, one, two and three.

We'll look at later smart collections in here. Test collection set here with nothing in it just yet. So I'm going to grab my red collection, pop it in, just drag and drop it in, kind of grab Sakura drag and drop them. So now I've got some collections in my test collection set. Pretty easy, straightforward. You can certainly nest sets within sets if you like if I wanted to.

With my test collection set within my subject, and it drops in there, and I've got collections within collection sets. And if I wanted to take it back out again, I just drag it up to the top here. And it's back to there. So similar to the way we did the, when we made the keyword hierarchies, I guess very similar principle of nesting elements within elements, you can just drag and drop them in and drag and drop them out. Now the next thing I'd like to show you is the smart collection creates smart collections. So this is a pretty cool little feature.

So when I create a smart collection, it asks me to name it, and I'm just going to call it test. It asks me if I want to save it inside a collection set. To which I'm going to say Yes, I do. I want to go into my test collection set, the one I just created, and it asks me to create some rules. Now on my first rule, I'm going to say the writing must be greater than or equal to two stars. I'm going to click on this plus symbol here to add another rule.

And for this next rule, I'm going to go Down to the other metadata and keywords. And I'm going to say the keywords must contain the keyword, temple. And now I'm going to add one more rule. And I'm going to say that the camera info, ISO speed rating must be less than or equal to 400 ISO. Now, I can have Lightroom match all the following rules, which is the default, I could say match any of them or match none of them. I'm gonna say all of them for now, because that's generally how we do a smart collection.

So I'm gonna, so Lightroom is going to go through my entire catalog, it's going to find every image of two stars or more with the keyword temple 400 is our slot, and it's going to put them all into a collection for me. So the reason I chose 400 ISO or less was just maybe some of my older cameras that didn't perform so well at a higher ISO, they'll be eliminated. But I just wanted to show you some extra little rules that we could set. So when I click create what's the I click Create and bang, there it is. So it's gone through and it's made this beautiful collection of temples, all with two stars or more, all with four shot at 400, ISO or less. And you can see there's actually 74 images in my test smart collection just here, which is a wonderful thing.

So once you've created a smart collection, let's say I wanted to remove an image, if I click on that one and click Delete, Lauren says you can't delete directly from a smart collection. Because the smart collections automatically created you would have to change the criteria. So I'd have to lower this image to less than two stars or remove the keyword temple so it would be removed. The other good thing about smart collections is they continue to populate well into the future. So if I were to shoot new images next week or next month, and they were to meet that criteria, they would automatically be added to the smart collection as well. Now, there are smart collections in Lightroom already, whether you haven't created any online Not because Lightroom ships with a few it ships with three stars colored red, five stars, video files and without keywords.

So you'll notice the little star in the lower right hand corner that represents the smart collection. So without keywords is a good one to find images with that keyword so you can add. So smart collections, I guess we're really sort of unleashing the power of metadata. Now currently going through the library filter, making smart collections, doing smart searches, and so forth. So hopefully you can embrace all of that in your workflow to make the management of 10s of thousands of images much easier.
