Facebook Live is another great option for communicating with customers, clients, prospects, your community, your tribe in a video format. Now the thing I really have two things about Facebook Live number one. Once it's done, it's done. You're not even tempted to do numerous takes because it's live. Number two, most people are scared and nervous about doing anything live. So even fewer of your competitors are doing this.
It's an ability and option of really cutting through the clutter. Once again, extra bonuses of doing Facebook Live. Facebook loves it, they reward you. They put you in front of so many more of your followers people who liked your page or friends if it's a personal page. Anytime I do a Facebook Live I get a much larger audience, again is talking the beauty of Facebook Live In addition Beauty is people can type in questions, they can interact, they can put little heart things on and it's live, they can really communicate directly with you. And you can make it more like a town hall meeting sometimes.
So that this also applies to, to YouTube Hangouts. There are other formats where you can do this as well, the beauty of Facebook is, so many people are already there. So it's a great way of having an audience built in now. You could get really fancy and have big cameras and have all the fancy way of doing it like a broadcast production. But also just hold your own cell phone and do it. Don't even worry about a microphone.
Now you could, but some of the most successful Facebook Lives I've ever done. It's been me in a training or somewhere and I'm just holding my cell phone out at arm's length. Now, a couple of tips if you're going to do that have the cell phone company inches above your eyes. What most people do that's wrong, is they have it down, it's shooting up their nose, and the only thing you see is the light above your head, the lights on the ceiling so it darkens your face. Try to keep it a couple of inches above your eyes, or at least no lower than your eye level, it will look much, much better. Now if you want to take it up a notch, have another person hold your cell phone, or if you're using an iPad, and that way, you can frame it a little better.
It can look a little nicer. Be careful, though, because sometimes there's a time lag between when you think you've started and you started more important when you think you've ended. Sometimes it goes on another couple of seconds. So don't make the mistake of finishing. And that's Oh gosh, I'm glad that it's over. That was a bunch of I've seen that happen to people and it was quite embarrassing.
So stay in the moment when you're done. Just stop talking. Wait a couple of seconds. Make sure it's completely off and then go on. The other beauty of Facebook Live is it gets you even more used to speaking on camera if you can do it live, there's a certain adrenaline rush going through your body. Do that doesn't have to be every day could be once a month could be twice a year.
But when you do things live and you get used to it, then when you're doing your own recordings and it's not alive, it's even less stressful, and it's easier than ever so please, I beg you Don't overlook this opportunity because it is huge.
