Okay, now we're ready to do some exercises to get used to playing these different types of notes and their lengths. So I'm going to give us a good solid beat. And it'll go like this. I'm going to give us 1234, then play one. Now, we're going to start with these whole notes. And the whole notes again are four beats.
So our vo is going to go on for a whole four beats. And if you can't get your boat to go all four beats, it's okay to just switch bows as long as you don't stop your ball, so it'll continue on and let's say it goes one, two, I ran out of bow and I just went the opposite way without making a stop. Right? So we're going to get this done and is going to go like this. I'm going to come to four and then when we come back to one is when your bow will start. With me, so we're going to be playing on the D string for right now.
So the third string 123 and we're going to start and 1234 down bow ports which pose for another noun. Now we're going to do half notes, half notes or two beats. I'm going to count the same way. I'm going to go 1234 and play one, right? So we're going to do the same thing. It's going to be on the D string.
And we're going to start with a down bow on the D string, third string, so 1234 All right, good job. Now, the next note that we're going to work on is quarter notes. With my beat structures, one 234 my bowl change with every single number that I call out. So 1234 so again, we'll have a blank 1234 where you don't get anything. Okay, I'm gonna just count it out and then we're going to start on the beginning of no one together in real time. on the D string again, starting with a Dumbo quarter notes, so 1234 After the last one, we're going to do eighth notes.
So remember the counting structure was 234, we count ends in between those beats. So we go one, and two, and three, and four. And right. Now, we're going to count, we're going to make a bowl that happens with every one and the next part of it as in the end, we're going to do an up bow. So every down is a number one or two or three or four. And the up bow will always be and so down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, okay?
So I'm going to count it out for us with one 1234 and then we'll come in at one and we'll be doing down, up, down up for one ends look like this on the D string. 123. Down, down, down, down. All right, great work. We'll see in the next lesson.
