Hi again everyone. My name is Julie Ellen Rowland. And welcome to belly fat and its relationship to the number one fat making human insulin. The reason I've created this program is not just because so many people in my practice are unhappy about growing weight and benefit, but also because the incidence of pre diabetes or insulin resistance leading to full blown diabetes is spiraling out of control. A while ago, type two diabetes was called mature onset, because it only happened to adults. But now, even children as young as eight are being diagnosed with type two diabetes.
This is a brief series of lectures aimed at increasing understanding of what happens in the body that lead you to that stubborn middle fat that just won't go away. And how this is one of the first indicators of pre diabetes or Insulin resistance. It's also aimed at increasing understanding for those people who've already been diagnosed with diabetes. And you want to make active changes at home to turn their health around, and of course, feel better in the cloud. But first of all, am I qualified to teach this program because my initial qualification is podiatry. I come into contact with many diabetics, because one of the problems associated with insulin resistance and diabetes is diminished blood supply to the lower limbs and neuropathy.
Others treat many diabetics, and a found this much confusion about what role insulin plays in the management of their disease. I'm also a practicing functional medicine practitioner, and I'm certified in health and nutrition, sports science, and I have a degree in psychology and communication. I've been in practice for more than 25 years and I lecture and consult private on health and longevity, personal empowerment, lifestyle management, diet, and stress management. My sub studies include detoxification, incident and sugar management, energy management, pain and inflammation, gut health, and hormones and sexual health. Before I jump into the course, please take note of the disclaimer. And I encourage you to work closely with your doctor as you make changes in your lifestyle, particularly as you incorporate the changes to carbohydrate intake, as it may mean some adjustments to your medication.
But for those of you who are insulin resistant or pre diabetic, or who have belly fat that you're concerned about, you can throw yourself into making changes with abandon, feeling confident that you're on the road to improved health.
