The first element that we are going to touch on is the element of intention. Now, our lives are busy. We live in a very hectic, very fast paced environment, whether whether you're living in a city or a rural area, it doesn't matter, our society has made it. So we are always on the go. We are always trying to think of the next step. We are always trying to plan ahead, and we lose intention of what it is that we really truly want.
So the first element is waking up with intention. Because every morning that we wake up, we always are going to have a to do list we're always going to have to either go to work or do chores or, you know, do something, but when we wake up with intention, it helps us cultivate a sense of gratitude. And, as you probably already know, gratitude is probably the strongest gift that you can give yourself. And really what you can do, when I talk about waking up with intention is, before you even get out of bed, say thank you, even if it's just in your mind, just thank the universe for another day for another opportunity for another chance to manifest a beautiful beginning or a beautiful life. And another thing that you can do, while living in intention is a practice called segment intending. And I learned this through the teachings of Abraham Hicks, now segment and is tending is really super simple.
And when I tell you, I can't get over how well it works, it really works really well. Now segment intending is basically just the practice of thinking of the next thing that you're going to do in a very positive way. way. So what I mean by that is say you are going to work say you're a waitress at a restaurant and you have the dinner shift, and you're supposed to be there at five, and you're driving to work. And while you are intending, right, while you're getting to that next segment of the day, think of positive thoughts for that segment. So when you're driving to work, think of Oh, man, it's going to be a great night.
I'm going to get you know, I'm going to get the best customers. I'm going to really enjoy the staff that I'm working with tonight. I'm going to be able to leave early and still get great tips. And just putting that positive energy out into the universe really sets the tone for the next segment of the day. So really, every every day is filled with different segments like you, you get out. You get out of bed in the morning, you brush your teeth.
Okay, that's one second. into another, then you go into your, your kitchen and you pour yourself a cup of coffee and some breakfast, that's another segment of your day and then you jump in the shower. That's another segment. So our day to day lives are filled with different segments. So when you're really dreading something, like if you have a meeting with your boss, that you're really, really dreading. And while you're waiting for that segment of your day to come, think of things that will create a positive flow of energy into that segment that might look a little negative or that you're really not looking forward to.
And I'm telling you from personal experience, I can't get over how well this works. You know, I have a problem. When I wake up during the middle of the night, I have a problem going down, back down to sleep like I can't, it's sometimes very hard for me to go back to sleep quickly. Like it takes me While so what I do is when I'm in the bathroom, you know, or I wake up, I literally just start and I programmed myself to think, Oh my god, I'm gonna fall asleep so quickly. It's going to be such great sleep, it's going to be so deep, I'm going to wake up so rested. And when I tell you when I remember to do this, oh my god, does it make a difference.
So that's a practice that you can incorporate into your everyday life that will help you I guarantee it. Now, another thing that you can do is start your day off with gratitude. And really, the easiest way to do this is just by stating what you're grateful for. Now, there is a glad exercise that I want to share with you guys because, you know, maybe sometimes, you know, finding your journal and writing, writing all your gratitude. In it isn't really your thing. But this is a practice that you don't even need a journal for and it's still cultivates a lot of positivity in your life.
What it is it's just the glide exercise. So every letter of glads stands for something. So g is gratitude. What are you grateful for at this present moment l is learn what have you learned today? And then A is act. What did you do in your day?
That was good. Did you finally put that laundry away that was sitting on the sitting on the stairs? Did you reach out to a friend? Did you pay your bills? What was it that you did that you acted upon in that day? That made it positive?
And the last but not least, it's D and that stands for delight. And what I mean by delight is what is something that really was great today. What did you do? Did you go and have an amazing latte or did you go and get a massage or did you get a really great 20 minute meditation session, whatever the case may be, if you go through glad, any, any time of the day, and you just go ahead and answer those four things, I promise you, your vibrations are going to be raised and you're going to feel much more abundant. So those are a couple of things that you can do that are really super simple, that will really cultivate such beautiful abundance in your life. Now let's go ahead into the next segment or the second element of living an abundant life.
