The nervous system is the system that provides the integration and control of body processes. It consists of the brain and spinal cord, linked to the peripheral part connected with tissues and organs.

There are two nerve fibers:

• Sensory nerve fibers carry messages from tissues and organs to the brain and spinal cord.
• Motor nerve fibers carry messages to tissues and organs, from the brain and spinal cord.
