Let's get right to it. Now, first of all, I would like to tell you that PMI has so many products. The main one, this is the really dominant product of PMI is the Pembroke pinball guide, the sixth edition, the PMP certification. This is the main product. Nevertheless, there are other products, many other products that are really valuable for project management practitioners and program managers and portfolio managers and so on and so forth. So I'm going to mention a few of them.
Like let me take number four here on this list. The standard for program management. There's a standard for program management we will learn the difference between a program and a project and portfolio of projects. As we go. PMI issues a standard for program managers And there is a certification also an exam and a certification, certain prerequisites in order for you to become a recognized program management professional PMP. There's also number five on this list here.
There is a standard for portfolio management when you have a portfolio of projects. So there's a standard for portfolio management, and it's called and there is a certification and examine certification prerequisites in order to become a recognized Portfolio Manager. And you become become a pf MP pf MP stands for portfolio management professional. So these are some of PMS products. I'd also like to mention to you that there are extensions to the Pembroke. I mean, the Pembroke is really the main source of knowledge in this field project management.
But PMI has long recognized that Certain project management disciplines are have their own particularities like in the construction industry, like governmental projects has its own particularities and others. So, BMI has issued extensions to the pin book like I'm going to mention one of them here number number eight on this list, construction extension to the handbook. This is an extension to the pin book that is relevant to the construction industry, very valuable source for people who work in that field. But for practical purposes and for the PMP exam taking, you don't have to worry about that. Everybody who attempts the PMP exam, almost everyone, they just confine themselves to the Pembroke itself. And of course, some other resources that help them understand the pin book and decipher it like this.
But resource here taking these lectures and of course, I'm going to be mentioning also in due time, some other resources where you can get more practice questions and answers and more explanations and so on and so forth and further readings. Right? So for all practical purposes for taking the PMP exam, you just have to worry about the pen bog. But for all practical purposes, for practicing your job, it's really, really valuable and worth going through the relevant literature to your industry and your line of work. Like if you're in the construction business, you might want to take a look at the construction extension to the Pembroke if you are in governmental contracting or governmental projects.
