Hello and welcome to Module Three home. This is the third module of a vibrant health online program. Today we're going to talk about four pillars of a healthy home. They include air, water, space and nature. And we're going to jump right into pillar one air, starting with what's in the air. dust.

Dust attracts particulate matter brought in from the outdoors that includes things like molds and pollen and heavy metals and petroleum products. And these can cause asthma and allergies, fragrances, artificial fragrances from perfumes, laundry detergents and softeners, as well as deodorizers can cause asthma attacks, and even hormone disruption. co2 levels above 1000 parts per million could cause droughts. And headaches and we already know that high co2 levels can also impact our sleep quality. VFC s are volatile organic compounds are present in some cleaners, and in paints, varnishes adhesives and Caux. VO C's can cause headaches, nausea, even vomiting.

It could also cause watery eyes, watery nose, runny nose. And the good news is though, that all of these products are required to list their voc content in grams per liter on the label. So the higher the voc number is in grams per liter, the more vo C's are present, and the more symptoms you might experience if you use those products, molds, molds occur and under ventilated areas of the home and water damaged areas and most Commonly causes cold and flu like symptoms, but can vary greatly from person to person even within the same home. cleaning chemicals contain ingredients that can cause hormone disruption, cancer, reproductive disorders, in skin and eye irritations, and I'm going to talk a little bit more about chemicals to avoid in cleaning products and upcoming slides and what to use instead. So how do we clear the air air purifiers with heppa filter can help clear the air of allergens and particulate matter.

If you have an air purifier with a carbon filter, it could also help clear out vo C's. Now I started with air purifiers even though it's kind of a bigger purchase item. Because if you live in an urban environment or near a freeway, it's going to be more difficult for you to clear out some particulate matter that comes in from the outdoors because the particulate matter and the overall toxins in the air are much, much greater. So if you do live in an urban area, I highly recommend trying out an air purifier at least with a HIPAA filter that's too often and vacuum with a HIPAA filter vacuum. Also consider adding indoor house plants to add oxygen and filter vo C's peace lilies juiciness, Ficus Boston burns are all great air cleaners that are easy to care for. Open Windows and run a whole house fan if you have one every day to flesh out vo C's.

If you don't have a whole house fan, you can also use your bathroom fan or you could use your fan above your stove to help The air circulate more efficiently use non toxic cleaning products. And I'm going to talk about a couple of options making your own in the upcoming slides, toss artificial fragrances, bathroom fresheners, fabric air fresheners, and consider using a fragrance free laundry detergent. Now in the upcoming two slides, we're going to talk about the eight chemicals to avoid and household cleaners. You don't have to write these down. I do have them in the downloadable PDF that's at the end of this module. So starting at the top, and please, these are long names, so forgive me if I mispronounce some of them.

The first one is a type of ethylene glycol ether. This causes anemia by damaging red blood It's LinkedIn paired fertility and reproductive toxicity, and it's also a possible human carcinogen. The next one is alcohol phenol at oxalates. It's a potent hormone disruptor. And the Canada Canada and the EU have both banned these dyes kind of like fragrances are used by companies to hide ingredients that can be harmful. Ethanol amines, mono dye and try are all carcinogenic and neurotoxic.

Fragrances we already talked a little bit about those, they can cause hormone disruption and it's also a way for companies to hide certain ingredients that might not be really beneficial for our health. Pine oil. This is a little bit of a surprise for some and it's because When it reacts with higher ozone levels, it can form formaldehyde. The next one, and forgive me if I say this wrong, is quaternary ammonium compounds. It's an antibacterial agent that can cause asthma triclosan is another big one to avoid. It's an antibacterial agent that can cause antibiotic resistance.

So much so that the CDC has asked that you stop using it. It appears in antibacterial hand soap. It also appears in antibacterial dishwashing soap. It's also been embedded in quartz countertops. And I've seen it in toothpaste as well. So instead, you could try To make your own cleaner, here are a couple of ideas that I wanted to share with you.

The first one is taking a mason jar, filling it with leftover citrus peels until it's full. Make sure to store this in the refrigerator. Be sure also to remove all of the fruit from the peels and as much of the white area as you can as well. fill the jar with distilled vinegar and let it sit for three weeks in your pantry. Then strain the peels out and mix one half parts water with one half parts of the vinegar infusion and use as a multi purpose cleaner. Another option is to take a cup of baking soda and mix a quarter cup of dried mint.

Make sure that the Mint is crushed with a mortar and pestle to make it very fine or you could mix it with your coffee grinder. Make sure that the coffee grinders clean first, mix it together and then you could sprinkle it on rugs or carpets in the background. made up, or you can use as an abrasive scrub in the bathrooms or sinks. Of course, you could also just use the baking soda by itself. Next, I want to dive a little bit more deeply into mold. And the first step is to detect the mold.

There's visual detection. So signs of mold can include water stains, or actual mold. Black is the typical color that you might see. A moldy smell also is a way to detect mold. Not all all mold is visible. Some can be hiding in or behind drywall, and on Joyce, that's the framework behind the drywall.

You could also try Mold Testing, and that's an Urmi test. It will tell you what kind of mold is in your home and you do need a professional to do this test for you. So how do you get rid of mold? Well, one option is to just clean it yourself, throw out any textiles that have grown mold. Clean areas with mold and cleaning vinegar. Stronger than regular vinegar.

That's important to note, or you can have professional mold remediation done. This is more expensive, but depending on the extent, you may need this option. detoxing mold from your body is also really important too. It's not enough just to detect the mold, clean the mold or have it remediated. You also have mycotoxins in your body now. So here are some ways to detox that mold from your body.

Start with cutting out sugar from your diet completely or nearly entirely and we've already talked about this in a previous module. chlorella is also an excellent binder and an antibacterial and antifungal taking chlorella will help detox mold. co bind is what I personally use and it's a great product that binds multi toxins so that you can eliminate them effectively. Next step is pillar to water. I'll see you back here in just a moment.
