So we're back in our main composition. And that logo shows up because it's in the pre comp with the cup, and it's its own pre comp. And again, you can change that however you want. everything's working great. So a couple things that are left on this, if we want it to look like the other one, we need to get rid of this cup somehow. And I highly encourage you in your project to find a way to end it and take it back to the way it looks at the beginning just so that if you post it on Instagram, or if you make a GIF out of it or a GIF, then it will naturally loop.
Let's go back to coffee cup class, this is going to happen on your comp with the coffee cup and we don't need this election safe anymore because it doesn't matter because of getting smaller in the other one. And this one is going to be a little bit interesting in that you need to decide where you want it to be. So let's watch this animation where it naturally feels like we need that hole to happen. Okay, Monday, people have read it, let's have it start disappearing about right here. So let's say six seconds, six seconds into this, what's great is that I'm gonna leave my playhead at six seconds, and when I go into coffee cup, it will still be there, your playhead never moves. So your comp is there at six seconds, that's where we want it to begin.
And this will all happen here, this cannot be a pre comp, we don't want to make this whole pre comp, it's gonna be part of these layers. And the reason being is we need it to be a track mat for each of these. And it's going to be a single layer, so it's not going to be tough, but we'll have to duplicate it a few times. So I'm going to go up here and I'm going to grab the Ellipse tool, and we want it to be at least big enough for the widest part of the cup to get through. So just going to make ellipse that should be wide enough. That's a little too wide.
I don't want to be wider than it needs to be, but it needs to be wide enough. looks about right. And get stuff through that. Hey, then I'm going to move it down into position where I need it to be, I can move this a little bit. And you just kind of have to guess on what your whole would look like. As far as how much of it Do we want to see.
You can exaggerate it, it's an animation. Have fun with it. I'm going to say about right there. I'm going to align it. Here we go. That should be aligned with my cup as well.
Her cup center point is here. And our shape is there. So no. There we go. Centered it there. And now I'm just gonna move it down.
There we go to the halfway point, I'm gonna move it up just a little bit. And this is at the very top. This is over everything, but we actually need it to be at the very bottom. So I'm going to rename this whole and then take it and move it all the way to the bottom. So now the cup is in front of it. And remember that on your layer stack is like a stack of papers going from the very top.
So whatever is above, like this wrap is above the cup. That's why it shows up. If we were to grab the wrap and move it underneath the cup, you wouldn't be able to see it, you'd see the edges sticking out just like a stack of paper. So keep that in mind and use that to your advantage as much as you can. So here's our hole we need to fill this in. We're not going to have a hole that's just a line.
So I'm actually going to toggle through here. Get this, just make this a black There we go. Okay, looks great. All right, you would think sweet, there is where hole shows up. Okay, we actually need it to disappear. And then we have to animate the cup.
And we're going to have that that six seconds, remember. So here's this whole is going to appear here. So we need to make a shape gonna grab the rectangle tool. And all I'm doing here is just making a shape over to make sure you cover the entire thing. That's all I need. And this is going to go over the hole right above it because we need this shape layer to be the track map for the hole.
I'm going to rename this whole mat. That's the mat for the hole. And then I'm going to take this and say alpha mat, remember this track mat part. Whatever is right above it, you can make it an alpha mat. So now what Ever this whole mat is that hole will show up, which is beautiful in that we want the hole to be open at six seconds. So take this mat position, make a keyframe.
Go back a little bit, wherever you want, we're going to move in just a second and move this to the left until the hole is gone. There we go. So that's going to stay just like that. So this is our entire animation here will happen. Nothing happens to the track man at all our animation happens and then that's where the hole appears. And we can have that happen much faster.
Perfect. So this is your rectangle here. And you just move that track mat over the top of the hole so it shows up. There you go. We're at six seconds, and that hole appears. Now we need to pause a little bit Think about your cartoons or what have you.
And you pause a little bit, and then you start the five frames, then we start things dropping off. And we're going to start with the wrap and then the cup and then the lid and animate those a little bit. Now as they fall, we don't want to fall totally straight down, we want the wrap to fall straight down, that's fine. But if we cause a little bit of rotation for the cup, if we just have more of a natural feel to it, just like when the cup fell in a hit and moved a little bit and bounced, it has more of that natural feel. But something that we have to do is we need to take this hole because we want the cup to show up on the inside here to show depth. But when it animates down to here, it's going to go over this entire thing and I'll show you what I mean.
If we take the wrap right now, we're bringing up position. We set a keyframe there if you don't set that keyframe here, then it will just slowly go from here to the next keyframe of that we're going to position so make sure you reset and save that. That way the wrap stays right where it needs to stay right here and doesn't float, float around. So let's go ahead a little bit here and take our position down. Okay, so if you notice, when it falls, it's not falling through the hole, it's just falling off the screen, which is not what we want. We want it to fall into the hole and it's not doing that.
I also want to change this right now. To where not where right now it's slowing down as it goes. But I want it to speed up Because it will start slow and then it'll speed up as it drops into the hole just like if you drop something, always thinking back to giving it as much reality as possible. There we go. So just slowly slips off and falls like that. Okay, now our mats.
So what I'm going to do is position this right here just so I can make sure that I'm getting this and you can see the effect as it happens. I'm going to go to hold because we want this perfect ellipse right here, this edge has to be what causes this to cut off. So if I duplicate the hole, I get hole two. And I move it up here to the wrap. Then I make this no track mat on the hole to make this an alpha mat. Okay.
It's showing up But it's not showing up correctly in that the only place that's showing up when you turn this off is within that ellipse, which is exactly what a track mat does. So now we're seeing the shadow, but we're not seeing get anywhere except in the hole. So we don't want that. Okay, so let's rename this. And we're going to add to this. So with this selected and move our playhead so we can see what we're doing.
With this selected, grab the rectangle tool and go here where the center point is, because all we need is to make sure that the widest part of here is contained. So we're going to draw a rectangle here and go up. Just make sure you get everything I need to put this a little bit closer to the center. Here we go. move this over just to make sure we have absolutely everything covered. Okay, so you see what happened there, it's on the same layer and we made those two different shapes but on the same layer therefore it becomes the entire mat.
So now the mat itself is the rectangle and the hole. So everything within that rectangle shows up and disappears down the hole. Okay, so now all we have to do is copy this for all of the other ones. And the reason I extended this all the way up here is because we want this stuff, it will show up inside this mat, the lid and the cup itself and you can actually extend this. Extend just a rectangle out if we need to. We'll see what if we need to when we bring that lid in, we might need to extend this out, but we need to leave that hole where it is.
Okay. So that means that everything that shows up needs to have that so I'm going to change this to green because our mats are always green. Good. So now we can duplicate this. Put it above the logo. Turn this logo back on track man to that.
Good. So now that right there. Changes backpack should show up. Good, and it's dropping out. Excellent. Perfect.
And I'm just going to do this for the cup. And for the lid. Make this track mat and then we'll animate the cup in the lid
