Once you have established your ability to hold a cave, or a tongue pop, you will be able to do a tongue pole. The purpose of this is to make them the back muscles of the tongue, those posterior tongue muscles, we want to do so by suctioning our tongue to the roof of our mouth and maintain that suction while pulling the tongue backwards towards the soft palate, you're going to release once your tongue tip reaches the soft palate, for a soft clicking sound. You're going to perform 10 repetitions of this two to three times daily, with our goal being to strengthen that posterior tongue muscle and we also want to reach the soft palate before we release the suction. These pictures are slightly reversed however, What you're going to do is suction up as we see with our cave on the right. And then you're going to pull back as you see the tongue mid slide along the roof of the mouth.
