Our final exercise for this week is sticky spot. The purpose of sticky spot is to get that tongue moving along the palate. We want to stimulate all those propria receptors, those little receptors and feelers are sensory feelers on our palate. And we're going to do so by working our tongue. So we're going to get a nice stretch of our friend Neela. In addition to stimulation, how will we do this?
Well, you can place a small amount of peanut butter or Nutella on the spot, and then you're going to lift tongue to spot and you're going to rub back and forth and a consistent motion, maintaining that upward reach for at least 15 to 20 seconds. If you are not a fan of peanut butter, Nutella, or you have allergies, you can simply pretend and perform the exercise for 15 to 20 seconds. It is suggested that you perform this exercise one time, two to three times daily. So you want to do this exercise, get your full 15 to 20 seconds, and then that's it, you're done with it, then you will pick it up again midday or later in the evening. That way you get two to three full times in. Our cool is to stretch our friend Yellen and to stimulate the proprioceptors on our palate.
This picture I love there is no peanut butter in there does show a left where there is some restriction. This is a great picture so that you can visualize what it is that you're going to be reaching for. you're reaching to stretch this formula and as you stretch it more What you're going to notice is that there may be blanching planting is when the tissue turns white. It's being stretched and pulled. You're moving it back and forth and it is really working hard. There will be some forms of manual release that are happening as you're making the stretch and it will get more comfortable as you go along.
This concludes the exercises one through four. Please do take the full week to practice these exercises for the amount of repetitions indicated
