Hi, welcome back to Tumblr takedown. In this video, we're going to talk about getting set up. So you can use your Gmail account with Tumblr, okay, so whatever your Gmail is, you can use that and use that with Tumblr. So for your keyword research, basically what you want to do is pick out a domain relevant to your niche. Okay? This will help you with branding.
Then you find an exact match domain to get a good rank in Google. Okay, so when you go into your Google Keyword Tool, we'll show you how to use that pic exact match to make sure you get a good rank. And you're going to go over to godaddy.com and choose a domain name and create an account and purchase your domain. Okay, so we've talked about how to do this so many times. I'll include the video in this module. Just so you can check it out, but really pretty simple.
You're going to choose a domain that has your keyword in it, okay? And it's going to be relevant to your niche. Okay? So this is pretty much standard. Okay, this is standard training for internet marketing in general. But when you're doing these, you know, PPC, we're using these social networks, we want to make sure that we have the right keywords, we want to make sure that that that domain has the keyword in it.
Okay, so this is important. Did you go to your DNS manager and hit launch and edit your point to address Okay. Then you can click on the gear icon on Tumblr and use a custom domain name and copy and paste the a record to the points to on godaddy.com then save the settings. So basically, what this is going to do is is going to allow you to have a domain name that targets a certain keyword in a certain niche But goes directly to your Tumblr. Okay goes directly to your Tumblr page. Okay, and then it'll show up, your domain will show up at the top.
So it's pretty cool that Tumblr lets you do that. Okay, so just go get your domain, do a little bit of keyword research. Now that you've got the niche that you want, you should be net, you should know who you want to target. Then just make sure that your domain points towards Tumblr there, and you'll be good to go.
