Inside the library module on the right hand side is the number of panels in here and we'll take a few minutes to run through them in here. So again, I'm just going to select one of the images. So select one of the images to start with. First we've got a histogram panel here on the right hand side. So you can see the distribution of the pixels within the image you can also see some metadata from the file, this image was shot at ISO 200 on 60 millimeter lens at aperture setting of 2.8 and the shutter speed was one 3200 of a second Okay, that is original photo is not a Smart Object. Okay, so the smart preview so this is a histogram in here which you can use for quick develop as well now could develop is a way you can quickly develop images but we'll have a look in the next video.
So for now, we're just going to scroll down to keyword and that's where you can add keywords to Images. So for example, I'm going to add some keywords to select this image here I will add a keyword of say nature. And then come out use commas to separate keywords notice in Lightroom, Photoshop is the same and then flowers. And then maybe as well macro and output macro in Polish as well just press enter, return to accept it. Okay, and here and the key word and just collapse the histogram for a second. Like remember some key words using remember, some of my key words are used in a separate catalog.
So just remember that it will remember your keywords as well. Okay? So if you want to apply keywords to multiple files, you can select multiple files as well. So you could select maybe this one, that one as well. And this one, and now we can just click on nature here under keyword suggestions to apply it And maybe if I deselect this one here, so I'm just Ctrl click or Command click Undo seems to be selected, these two are selected, I can apply flowers, as well. And then macro and this macro as well.
Okay, there's another way you can apply keywords, but I'm going to show it to you soon we'll get tools here. So that's basically how you apply keywords, you can also create, so you can create your keywords as well in here, but for now, we're just limited to adding keywords Lightroom remember the keywords you use already. So let me show you an example. If I select maybe this image, this is kind of like a macro shot. This one here, it was actually shot on a macro lens. So I'm going to add a keyword in here and I'm going to start typing macro m a, and you'll see macro highlighted selection, we'll just add the keywords I can just press Enter on the keyboard, and then comma space m AC and macro.
Just press enter and enter again to play the keyword which is right into the metadata. That's the keywords. That's cool. Now we've got a keyword list where Lightroom remember the keywords you have applied to the images. And you can quickly access them as well. So for example, so you want to quickly find the images, no keywords with the word macro, you can just move the cursor over it, okay?
And click on this right pointing arrow in here, okay, or here to show these images, so here we go. But we'll get to this library filter, and shortly, okay, so I'm just going to set it to none for now. To close the folder, okay. Some people manage images using filters using keywords. I know some people who keep all the images in one folder, everything, everything in one folder and use keywords instead. Are they looking for images, they just looking for the keywords, and it works for them.
So really depends on how you prefer working Lightroom. As I mentioned earlier, Lightroom is so flexible, but also causes so many troubles to people, especially people who are less organized, because you need to be able to organize in here. Okay, finally we go to metadata. and here we can see the metadata for the files, you can also apply metadata, so you can see the corporate information. And you can change the copyright status, you can change the copyright information here as well. You can add some more if you can see the EXIF data from the camera, this is EXIF data, exit data is basically all the data has been written by the camera automatically into the file.
Like the camera was used the lens settings on the camera, aperture, shutter speed and so on. dimensions of the image as well. Okay, this, this cannot be changed, obviously. But you can change these and you can also change what you see in the metadata panel here because Get a job done manually can focus on what you're looking for. So say you only want to say just iptc because all this information about like my email address my website address, so you can, I know just use default that's what you get by default as well just default here. Okay.
And finally comments, just leave it. They're not supported in here. So leave them for now, and we're going to move on to the quick develop in the next video.
